I have shopped here three times and every time was an excellent experience. Needed some pipe for a project that is under a serious time crunch today! I had to wait to pick up materials on this and one other occasion. They let me pay for things online and left them in a secret location... The other time, they actually waited for me to come 15 minutes after closing! Top top on service!!!

Whenever I leave reviews, I read the existing reviews and I’ve noticed that ALL of the 1 ⭐️ reviews are from people that ONLY leave negative reviews at other locations. so get a life people and quit taking down the average for this great business! The person I worked with today even brought prices down without me asking! Comparing the PVC prices to Lowe’s and then matching those prices! NUTS! Small businesses cannot compete with giant businesses like Lowe’s! And yet they did! Ace is the place! So pumped to have this business in our small community of Nelson.
Please do give them your business! And remember that retail is so so challenging to make a living on! These big box places make shit cheap but man they cannot serve us like a small locally owned business!

Great place to pick up odds and ends, plants, tools, paint, soil, mulch, chainsaws, building materials, or a cold drink. Just don't take the owners lunch, which you find in the cooler sometimes, hahahaha! If your from the area or just passing through, stop in and check them out and say hi to Herbert the hound. The friendly folk there will help ya find what ya need for your next project or job.

What luck, the only hardware store for miles and its a gem. Well stocked with garden supplies and parts you might have forgotten for a home repair. Everyone working the store is welcoming and helpful. The owners will go out of their way to help you out with a special order.

We took our waterstained breakfast nook table down to Jackson, the new owner of Wintergreen Hardware & Garden Center, and I am so glad we did. He restored our table and chairs, and they look beautiful! Thank you, Jackson. So happy we have the Hardware store here in our community. It is fully stocked for all of our quick needs, saving us a drive to Lowes or Home Depot.

In this area for some Realtor related business and needed some materials for the project I was working on! Jackson was extremely helpful. We were even able to go back the next day and get some more materials. We ran out so i called back and he had a truck coming in and so he was able tonreserve some materials for Jimmy and I . Because of the time sensitive nature of what we were doing I really appreciated the fact that when he said the truck would be there it was. He knew his stuff! 👋 We will be back in the area again soon and if we need something I will be sure to stop here.

The young guy that works there needs to pay more attention to.whats going in the store instead of outside building something. I pay for a qt of oil and he was rude when I walked out ask me what I had and as I kept walking to my car he yells out I'm getting your tag number. I turned aroumd and said I paid for this and he never apologized for being rude or accusing me of stealing something. I should've let him go on get my tag number and when the cops showed up at my house and I showed them my receipt where I paid for everything I got!! That was uncalled for the guy to act like that towards me. I will not be going back to this store because of the rudeness!!!

Huge shout out to Wintergreen Hardware of Nellysford and Milwaukee Tool !!

I walked into wintergreen hardware a couple weeks ago when my drill quit to simply purchase a new one. Upon arrival Jackson talked me out of buying a new one because he could ship mine off even without knowing purchase date( several years old) or having a receipt.

He shipped it off, Milwaukee processed the claim, said it was too costly to repair and sent be a brand new impact. Jackson then shipped it back to Poquoson for me since I was no longer local. I would definitely drive back to wintergreen just to spend money at his store, and will continue to purchase Milwaukee tools.

As a paint contractor from out of area. I asked what kind of discount do I get purchasing since I purchased in high volume compared to a homeowner and having an account with Benjamin Moore. I heard was oh God a homeowner that wants a discount. right then, in there, he lost a $3,000 sale and took my business elsewhere. He's unable to realize it's his attitude that loss not only the sale but a client. Blame that on his ignorance. Not a way to be treating customers even if they are from out of town . I call that country ignorance!
