It's worth the 2 hour drive! I love this place. It's an old time butcher shop feel and they have all those small shop items. Going on 9 years now I choose them. The deer bacon is amazing! I like that I can pick up some steaks for the road. A+++

I took a finished steer in. Got back a mess. The same cuts were not uniform in marbling or texture. They clearly swapped some of our meat out. One piece was great, the next piece... same cut, was tough as a boot. Some looked red, some looked grey. Just the same old thievery butchers are known for. We won’t be going back. Don’t trust these clowns.

I wanted my deer processed into a lot of bratwurst, which is listed on their pricelist. They told me they stopped making it 3 years ago but nobody has taken it off the pricelist, even though the prices had been updated (gone up). Said they only used to sell 20-30 lbs of it, I said I'd buy at least that. He said you'd have to buy 500-600 lbs of it for me to consider it...in a smug tone.

In the end it's not that big a deal if you don't update your website or pricelist, but no reason to be arrogant when a customer asks you if he can buy $500 worth of your services.

I took a hog in to be processed and when I fried up some sausage I had them made..so much water was added i wasn't very happy..When I had a hog processed at Cox there was only a little grease just sayin
