Great experiences here! I've gone through about half a dozen vendors for chrome plating in the last several years. New England Chrome has been very solid and reliable, with a fast turnaround time. Had a bunch of stuff ...price wasn't cheap but was willing to pay for a good job when I got the stuff back. They didn't fix dents they were supposed to and they messed up one piece. And when asked about it the guy said" oh well".. he'd said would make good on it but what was the point of me leaving it there for 3 weeks? Just to have to come back again...... no thank you

Had some brake backing plates done and 2 other mounting brackets. They did not come out good. After some complaining about how bad they look they are going to make it right. Hopefully they do.

**EDIT** after giving the parts back to them for a second time, they gave them back looking a bit better but still not anywhere near what they should look like. Its almost like there're splotchy. I wasted money on yet another local company that does not take pride in their work. What a shame, do not go here.

Beware of New England Chrome Plating. You may get lucky there, or you may get what I got. I brought my grill from a 1938 Ford One Ton truck to Dean at NEC on March 24, 2015 to be re-chromed. He gave me a price of $2500 plus tax and recovery fees and an estimate completion time of 8 weeks. I finally got the grill back on July 31, four months later. The long wait would not have been bad if the job were done well. However, the plating job was generally very poor quality.

After getting evaluations from other plating companies, I returned to Dean to express my dissatisfaction and to get the job re-done. After a lengthy discussion where I gave Dean several facts about how and why the job was poor quality, Dean grabbed the grill, said he would re-do it and flung it aside. He told me the grill would be done in four weeks. I called several times, and finally on October 21, another two and a half months, the ordeal came to an unsatisfactory conclusion.

I got my grill back and a check for most of the payment I had given him. The problem is that Dean had the grill sand blasted and caused damage to it including holes through the metal. Now I need to have the grill repaired before it can be plated. All of this is an additional expense to me. Dean seemed to be fully aware of the worsened condition of the grill as demonstrated by what he said to me. This is a direct quote: “You won’t find anyone to do that job for less than $4500 to $6000 now.”

I don’t think that Dean Malinguaggio is to be trusted with your one-off parts.

After reading the reviews online I was hesitant to bring my items to be plated. I went against my gut and dropped my items off. Came back to before the predicted time frame and came back to me better than I had anticipated. Flawless and they paid great attention to detail. Would recommend them to anyone and I'll be bringing more business to their shop.

Bad experience. They quoted 1 month and after taking a deposit they have not started my work even now, almost 3 months later. I routinely called to check on status and each time they told me 2 weeks. The manager now tells me that my work was bumped because a more lucrative commercial job bumped mine. The shop is cluttered and disorganized.

I will be going in to ask for my parts back with a refund and will finish this review based upon their response.
