Very good beer in both traditional German styles like helles and blocks and American styles such as amber ales and IPAs. Also home to the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever eaten in my life. Highly recommended if you happen to be in The Dalles.

The Bake Oven is fantastic! I love a dark lager and this one is fantastic technically a Schwartz Bier, nonetheless an excellent malty delicious brew! Dog friendly outside seating is much appreciated. Food is pretty darn good, everything was actually. Thai Chicken wrap, pizza, and a burger. Also, The bathroom was super clean, modern (tile floor and walls) and largely touch free. Bartender was super friendly. Love this place, would be stoked to be a mug clubber here, ceramic mugs!

A wonderful find! Great atmosphere! Good beer! Awesome food! The pretzel bites were delicious, and the pizza amazing! Hesitated about potatoes on my pizza, but the Freebrige pizza was fabulous! Highly recommend this place! Loved chatting with Steve, excellent customer service!

We visited many breweries on this trip and this one was good.... but not as great as others. I really like the atmosphere.... the false storefront look dividing the brewery area from the pub is a cool idea. The service was good. We did the taster of beer but the only one that we really liked was the Stout. We were hungry and the menu looked good despite several cross outs, so we ordered a couple happy hour items. The potato poppers sounded good but they came a little under cooked and only 3 slices... pretty small portions. The nachos were also a little small too. We were still hungry after those so we ordered a Cuban sandwich - really good.... and really big. Ended up taking half to reheat later! Overall it was a good experience, but compared to other stops on our trip, not at the top. We would visit again next time and sample beers again.

Came for the beer, stayed for the food. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was perfectly balanced. The sauce was just right, with not so much that you can't taste all the other toppings. The soup of the day "poor man's stew" was anything but a poor man's meal, and tasted very high quality. The Special, smoked brisket with Cole slaw, Mac salad, and corn bread was phenomenal, with the glaze over the melt in your mouth meat was perfect and not overpowering, with a lovely flavor. Staff was friendly and the lighting in the room was a great vibe. Oh, and of course the drinks were good! Fairly priced.

Good pizza, great beer. The pretzel bites were delish. The whole wheat dough they use is different but it works. Nice turn-of-the-century space they have in back of the brewery. Feels like an old school saloon. Entrance on the left side of the building, then go across the floor to the back right corner. Helpful staff!

After a full day of travel, road worn and weary we stopped in for craft brews and selected an untraditional pizza …apples, ricotta, bacon…way wow! The two amber beers were the perfect balance! Met the manager Steve who was engaging and so kind!

Super impressed by the venue and I would give the beer seven out of 10. Out of the samplers that I had, four of them stood out as unique and very drinkable the other three were drinkable but not very unique. The pizzas are impressive and they have awesome swag! I wouldn’t make a day trip if this was the only place I was visiting however there is enough to do in the area and other brewpubs to definitely make free bridge a place to check out!
