8:30 this morning, I tried getting onto US-2 and a car was right behind me, so I sped up to give him space. I noticed the passenger door had a logo for this company on it. Instead of letting me hop in when I was several car lengths ahead of him on the on-ramp, he sped up to block me out, so I had to hit the brakes so I wouldn’t hit him.

But maybe it was just a simple mistake.

I was behind him for about 3 miles while he tailgated the car in front of him (which was driving the speed limit), giving about 1 car length of space as they traveled 55 down the one-lane US-2.

He clearly thought he was the most important person on the road and could bully someone out of his way. He was being very aggressive with his tailgating, while that car he was tailgating was following a line of cars ahead of them, there was no way he could have gone faster even if he wanted to.

But I guess it all worked out for this employee of Modern Metals when we hit the first stoplight in Monroe and he cut into the right hand turn lane to get around the car in front of him, where he proceeded to drive the exact same speed as before due to the other cars on the road. It didn’t seem like a win to me, but at that point, I wasn’t rooting for a win for him.

He was rude. He was pushy. He was dangerous. He was willing to break the law to move up one car length in traffic.

I don’t know if the company itself condones this behavior, but it will never be my first choice after seeing the reckless choices this driver made this morning. He was flat out dangerous, and it feels irresponsible to me to support a company that employs people of this mindset.

This company is apparently doing work next door to us. Workers parked in our building's private lot today without permission, and despite a sign loudly declaring it as private property (parking for residents only). They blocked our lot entrance for at least an hour, which restricts access to our vehicles. Not ok.

Modern Metals, is hands down an awesome company.

they have grown exponentially over the years, from a small shop setting... to being able to fab and process everything in house and working along side large companies, erecting massive structural projects.

everyone involved in this team... from office/sales, shop guys to the install crews.. have an extremely friendly rapport, both with the customers... and each other.
