Heard you couldn’t beat their meat, so I figured I’d see for myself. Well, they ain’t cheap, but neither are you. Go on and get that tomahawk rib steak, maybe that thick pork chop. Check out the discount bin for hidden gems while you’re in there.

Bought meat here yesterday as it sounded great with the reviews. We buy from Lunardi’s and pay $20-25 lb for ribeye. Paid $24 lb and NY and it was AWFUL. Full of gristle, tough as old boots ...even with 2 hrs souviding. Tasted odd for “grass fed “? Which we have all the time. Will not be back ...very disappointing!!!! Will not be back ?

Used to be our "go-to" butcher, but quality has definitely deteriorated since they moved to the new store. Last two (2) times we purchased grass-fed rib-eye steaks ($40-$50 each time) they were so tough, we threw them away without even eating them (Santa Maria grilled to Rare). Albertson's butcher is far better choice now and way less expensive; plus, Albertson's will show you several choices and cut the steaks to whatever thickness you desire just like J&R. Such a shame to have fallen from such a great butcher in the past.

As far as I can tell, the best meat you can find in the county and the nicest people to serve you. Worth the little bit extra in price. And, OMG, their chile is delicious!
