It is a perfect opportunity to get a trade including certifications, drivers license, and or a high school diploma. You get paid for completing the program with any of those things and a paycheck every two weeks while on center also, you can get paid or rewarded for competitions and games. You can get a job within 10miles from the center if you live on campus. They have a a wellness center on campus and they can get you health insurance. Don't get on anyone's bad side, they can terminate you for a lot of things. There are nice people and they create relationships and connect with people. You can get food delivered to campus, the food they cook isn’t always good. There's a recreational center on campus and the recreation staff takes students on trips and they have parties, cookouts, campfires, and other activities for holidays and water slides in the summer. Another bad thing is getting homesick if you’re from another state, but you can go home for the holidays! The center is on a hill, nice sunset view!

I was there for exactly a year and 2 weeks. I was termed for misgendering and tossing water at the student. It was one of the worst places I had ever been to. My mental health went downhill tremendously. I don’t recommend Job Corps to anyone. The staff were decent. I loved the RAs.

I went here and it was cool that was like in 2008 though lol KL was there ..but it was mostly what you make of it and as long as you can stay outta the way and focus it can further your Future choices in life

Job Corps is an AMAZING opportunity to those equipped to take advantage of it. At this center - the staff are there for you. Even though I got regretfully kicked out because of problems within myself, all the staff at the center tried their best and did everything in their power to make sure I had the opportunity to stay.

If you're thinking about going to JobCorps - Make sure you can pass a drug test. That includes THC - even the pens from the gas station too. Make sure if you're a non resident that you have the ability to wake up and show up ready every day - on time. If you want to be a resident, prepare for a complete change of your lifestyle.

Overall - you'll be well taken care of. Take advantage of the program's opportunities to the fullest. You miss 100% of the opportunities you don't take. Go for it. You won't regret it.

I used to work there my experience there was horrible they treated me differently than others because I was younger and there’s definitely some discrimination up there. In my honest opinion from what I seen they treat the staff and even the students differently than the white people which is absurd to me. The whole place is disorientated and unorganized i’ve told multiple people how I was treated up there and nobody did anything just brushed it off so now here I am writing a review the pay is good but If your thinking about going here for a trade I wouldn’t do it . I wouldn’t send my kid up here at all either. Nobody is treated the same you can tell who is treated differently. 0/10 don’t recommend. Last thing the nurses up there do a horrible job my students at the time never had there medicine on time or it was never refilled. 0/10 as well very disturbing place. I hope my students go somewhere different and strive somewhere better because you should not feel like your in jail just to get your education.

Horrible place to be sent to. Groomers of teenagers among adult students are rampant. Food is mediocre if it's not giving you food poisoning. The dorms are chaotic and there's no privacy to be had. The center director doesn't care about any of the students and it's pretty evident. I would've been homeless because I didn't do a chore that didn't need to be done because the ''warning'' system is a failure. You're their dog there.

Wi-Fi is also horrible and ethernet cables are your go-to.. if they didn't take those away as well. I spent over a year here and I think it was the biggest mistake that's happened to me considering I didn't even get my license due to me being rushed out. But it's perfectly okay for others to stay longer than me when all they do is a whole lot of nothing and complaining about leaving. Funny.

Medical related stuff and general sympathy on center is also a joke. Allowing someone to experience multiple seizures in the dorm and cafeteria floor isn't a good look.

All in all, waste of time. When even the staff hate it there you know you're in for a treat!

Charleston Job corp is a great center, I went there from 2016-2017, i took 2 trade network cable and (HVAC) than i went on to advanced training program. my time at CJCC was good, i was in Obama dorm before i left. while your at the center make use of your time, and don't play high school like joining the groups and ect. Get what need and don't let anyone stop you. they have something call phase system, as soon as you get there work on that. Before you go, make sure your clean and go there to be positive. if not don't waste my tax $dollars lol. but they have movie trip and other trips on weekends and some trips on weekday mostly for those on leadership. get on that too. leadership. highly recommended that you stay away from cigarettes,and other drugs. pick the right friends, apply to job at the town center mall, and please go to church. All nation revival center is the one i went to. good people, nice church, good word.

Wasn’t the cleanest place but it was fun the students made it fun I didn’t really get to no the staff like I should’ve but overall it was ok oh the food was horrible lol and they didn’t have a pool it was false advertisement but that was like 16 years ago 2008
