We really wanted to work with Blue Barn after seeing some of their other nonprofit productions, and were excited to get started on our own project. We were located in the Bay Area, and a little apprehensive about distance influencing our production schedule and timeline but we had nothing to worry about. We also had to reschedule our filming days a few times because construction on our new building was delayed. There are so many fine qualities about the work Blue Barn Creative does-- --from the quality of what they capture on film to how they structure the final products to how available and prompt they as they process the videos. In the two multi-day shoots I've been involved with Blue Barn Creative's team, they made things smooth and easy.

In our first video experience, using three cameras, the team shot several days of me teaching with groups of kindergarten and first grade kids in a San Diego area school. In one of the finished videos, there's a moment where you hear my voice but we see a close up of this little girl's face. I'm describing a sad experience and, over several seconds, she develops this expression of sadness as she empathizes with what I'm saying. The child's engagement was so real and powerful and the team not only captured it, they recognized the power of including it in the final video. Just a brilliant choice!!
