A really pleasant grocery store to shop at. I love the featured local products and want to see more of those. I had a hard time finding produce that I was happy purchasing. I buy organic produce without plastic packaging, which was very scarce here. Most of the organic produce here is wrapped in plastic, which I avoid for environmental reasons. I would also love it if the employees bagging my food could ask before tying a plastic bag around my eggs. Single-use plastics take a huge toll on the health of our planet, and the more we can cut back, the better. I think that the produce companies might not understand that many customers who want organic food also want food that is not wrapped in plastic. Also, I’d love to see Equal Exchange brand tea and chocolate sold here.

Miles helped me out in meeting my dietary restrictions with a wrap in a bowl at the Deli which for some reason is not usually an available option at the Branford store but can be had in the many other locations we visit to have our 'family night out for dinner' meal that we have often while running around the state for youth hockey.
Everything off the line was fresh and delicious, it made my night, and my son and wife enjoyed their sushi. The ready-made options are great and easy to enjoy. We had it in the car tonight since there is no options there to sit and eat. Just fine for our family.

All the negative reviews are true. Being from the south, I don't want to here a northerner say the south is worse. Racism and prejudice are alive and well in places like the Big Y.

I needed 2 dozen cupcakes for a party for my Granddaughter who got into Villanova. I gave the bakery a picture of the logo I wanted on each cupcake. These cupcakes not only looked perfect but they were a huge hit at the party! Everyone was asking where I got them because not only did they look great but they were delicious! I will certainly be going back there!!

Very expensive. Also the deli help couldn't be more unfriendly and disinterested in doing their job.i hate to single anyone out but there's a young black guy who really has no people skills at all. Super unfriendly to the extreme. I understand that someone can have a bad day,but I've had repeated bad experiences with him. Not sure what the issue is. I hate when I end up with him calling my number Never smiles, never pleasant. He needs some customer service training. The cashiers have much better attitudes and most are very friendly and personable.

Stay away. In the last month alone I’ve had bad seafood salad, bad stuffed mushrooms, steaks that were spoiling, strawberries going bad and today they messed up the birthday cake I ordered. This place use to be great but lately their food safety seems off and poorly trained staff.

My sister and I were in a rush to pick up a small birthday cake for my child. The kids love Italian cake, and we wanted to make sure we had everything for dinner, so we did a quick grocery run. Honestly, I don’t shop regularly in Branford because of a bad experience I had 10 years ago. With limited time, and since my sister is from out of state, she was asking staff where to find items. She noticed someone watching her but decided to ignore it.

As we were leaving the parking lot, a tall white man took two pictures of our car. We saw him, so I got out of the car and confronted him and asked is there any problem but he started talking nonsense and pointed to someone else—probably his boss, Mark—and denied taking the photos. I wish he would do his job properly because it felt like they were watching us just because we don’t have white skin. It’s frustrating, especially since I paid all the stuff thru my debit card and, because we looked lost in the store, they assumed things and invaded our privacy.

The only good thing about this place is their sushi. The sushi staff works hard, they’re kind and they care about their work. Besides that, the fruit is always moldy or bad, their ice-cream has terrible freezer burn and the staff isn’t welcoming.
