Canceled my order made at end of November for a Christmas gift, never notified me, and did not refund the charge to my credit card! (Order date was 11/24 and as of 1/7 it hasn't been refunded.) That's straight theft and fraud. Very incompetent company that doesn't even get the basics of ecommerce right. Buy anywhere else.

Manufacturing and parts are reasonable.
Installation was straightforward - good instructions.

Software upgrades have made this pretty reliable, finally after 10 months.
Why not higher? If, or rather when I go outside and happen to chat with a neighbor, say 50' from the lock it does not unlock. It's good when I take a drive, bike ride or long walk. But not so much for casual chats around the house.

Smart lock auto unlock feature has not worked properly since receiving lock. Have made dozens of calls to August, sent logs, pictures of screens answered numerous questions still no resolution but lots subterfuge. Since they cannot get the lock to function a refund would be acceptable then I could be a working lock.

very disappointed in this product and the customer service or lack of!
from day one this lock did not work properly and it was installed by PROFFESSIONAL LOCKSMITH!
We called and tried to trouble shoot many times but tech support could not get it to work properly. Tech support told us it was a faulty lock and they have had these issues many times before. we have spend numerous phone calls to no avail! they couldn't get it working properly and kept going around is circles not resolving anything! battery life is VERY short, (1.5 months which is ridiculous! as we are only home 2 weeks out of every month) cannot connect with guest accounts, customer service unhelpful. From this experience we have lost ALL TRUST in this company and the product. All we want is our money back!!!! we sent receipt to company at there request...but they again.... want to do more testing.....we are so done! we have wasted 5 hours of our life on the phone about this issue. DONE!!!!!

I use August locks on all my short term rental properties. The technology glitches have caused major issues in my operations. Door codes randomly delete themselves and the app constantly crashes for no apparent reason. It has caused some major issues for my guests checking in to my properties. This makes it very difficult to run a professional business as a short term rental operator or property manager.

Also, lack of customer support when issues arise has me looking for a different solution to replace all 16 locks I currently have.

COMPLETELY WORTHLESS! I brought this product a few months ago and it arrived broken. The customer service department has been horrible to work with. They demanded I take this off the wall and then requested that I put it back on. They refuse to help unless I do more damage to my house. Do not buy!

Products mostly functional and a good app, but horrible customer service. Do NOT purchase anything from here unless you want it to arrive broken and never get fixed. I contacted them about fixing/replacing the keypad I purchased that arrived defective. August requested I take the pad out of the wall to get the serial number. Then they decided I needed to reinstall it and provide a video before they will assist me at all. This product is not worth doing more damage to my door frame. I will never deal with them again!

August Home has terrible customer service. I bought 4 locks from August, decided to return them, called them many times to find out status of refund, and they constantly delayed. Finally had to call my credit card company to dispute the charge.

The product is problematic and a nightmare! I had to break in my own house because it stopped working. Very cheaply made. Never do business with this company!
