Beautiful state park. We rented one of the cabins for a long weekend during heavy rains, flash flooding, snow and wind. The cabins are a little outdated, but private and suited what we needed/wanted. The staff at the lodge were very friendly and helpful; they even allowed us to check out a little later to go hiking. Cabin guests are allowed to use the indoor pool/spa, which our son absolutely loved. The lodge is nice and inviting with a restaurant, small gift shop, brewed coffee in the morning, and of course pool/spa. We hiked the falls trail to see the waterfalls. They were amazing due to all the rain/snow. We love that WV state parks are so inclusive and the beginning of the falls trail is paved with benches, ramps and picnic tables. The park is about 20 min away from Beckley.

On our way up to Gilbert, West Virginia to meet up with family for a weekend of UTV and dirt bike riding my wife and I stopped at this state park.

The park was opened in 1968 and was completed by 1975. The two namesake waterfalls are accessed by a hiking trail and are located about 1/2-mile apart on the Marsh and Black Forks of Cabin Creek.

The park is built on land donated by Pocahontas Land Corporation and Western Pocahontas Land Corporation as well as a few small privately owned plots. The entrance to Twin Falls State Park is about 12 miles from the Castle Rock Trailhead of the Hatfield–McCoy ATV Trail.

The park's nature center, located in Twin Falls Lodge, features local and natural history displays and offers naturalist-led programs year round.

We weren't overly impressed with the hiking trails and scenery. It's ok but the theme of this park seems to be centered more around the resort/motel and cabin rentals, a golf course on the property, splash pad and such located on the park property (which seems kind of odd for a state park, just saying)

There is a pioneer homestead located on the property that we thought we would be able to explore. To our surprise when we got there we saw that it's actually occupied, people live in this house and it's an actual home for someone. So all you can do is look from a distance. 🤷‍♂️

Anyway it's and okay locations to stop at if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get to it! 👍👍👍

Loved the cabin we stayed in (#5), it had everything you'd need to be comfortable. You also have access to all of the resort's amenities. A small pool and hot tub, trails, hikes to a couple of waterfalls, and a fitness room. There is also a restaurant and golf course, splash pad (during summer), tennis courts, and playgrounds. We didn't explore the entire resort but enjoyed our stay. The only downside is that it's a bit of a drive (30 min minimum) to get to other places (restaurants, waterfalls, and other places).

The camping and Pic Nic areas are in disrepair. The pioneer farm is falling apart. I grew up visiting this park. It is very sad to see the park falling apart. It is easy to see where they choose to make upgrades. Our campsite was not maintained. The bathrooms were gross and out of toilet paper. Firepits were not cleaned out, and our table was surrounded by weeds. The playground was not finished, and some kids were all over it.

Our stay was for only two nights. The weather wasn't exactly conducive to walking the trails sadly. We did drive around and check out the campground and the cabins they have to rent. Sadly, all of those were rented out. It was very peaceful when we were there. The room was clean and neat. They have a small restaurant on site due to its location. There are other options about fifteen to twenty minutes away. Be prepared for curvy roads. If you aren't used to those, use the pull offs to allow traffic to pass, there are plenty. If you want peace and quiet, then this is the place. We will be coming back soon.

Campground. One loop all wooded. Power. We're out in the open site 3. Nice. Restroom and showers were some of the cleanest I've used in a while. Thank you 😊. Took a stroll to the Pioneer homestead. Interesting. Had lunch at the lodge. Fried green tomato sandwich. Bowl of pinto beans with cornbread. Both very good. Good service. Hiked to both Falls.
