I had an amazing experience at High Rock Castle! My fantasy metal band, Luminator, booked the castle for a weekend to shoot a couple music videos. We had a few special requests and the hosts were quick to respond and made arrangements for us.

The property is breathtaking: a lake, rolling hills, statues, a small waterfall...it was beautiful even in the winter. The castle had so much character, filled with thoughtful decorations little easter eggs hidden around. The castle fit our crew of 8 comfortably, kept us warm in freezing temps, and even kept our butts warm with heated toilet seats!

The castle, its hosts, and its property will not disappoint.

The property was beautiful & our overall experience was magical! Lady Angela & her husband were the absolute best & made already wonderful accommodations an even better experience. The castle is amazing, the cottage adorable, & the 3 campers while small were comfortable with cute themed decor. We hosted a wedding reception & an 80th birthday celebration & had a blast! The amount of decor, serving supplies, linens, & so much more really accommodated all of our needs. I cannot recommend this property enough & cannot rave enough about the owners…they are truly wonderful people & so very accommodating. This is a definite must rent location for a party, wedding, event, or family reunion…you definitely wont regret it! ❤️

We had a blast! It was a memorable time with long time friends and family celebrating my husband's 40th. We LOVED all the fun details and intention that went into this place. The view in the morning was breathtaking, seeing clouds and fog in the distance made it truly magical. We hope to visit again.

This review is for the “TEA PARTY” only. I have no experience with the other advertised offerings.

I will start by saying that I came for two separate tea parties and prior to that I was considering this as our wedding venue. However, after our experience with the first tea party, I wouldn’t have ever gone back if I had not already committed to bringing a different friend.

I will try to paint a picture as briefly as I can.
Tea was outside, under a pop-up type tent pushed to the side of a garage. I believe they chose to set it up there because of the terrible weather in an attempt to prevent the wind from blowing the tent away, however I couldn’t understand why they didn’t just have it indoors inside the castle instead of letting everyone be miserable in the weather. Then I learned that we were not allowed into the castle unless we reserved and paid for a separate tour.
Impersonal seating was shared with strangers at long folding tables decorated with dollar store trinkets and stickers. Food was served buffet style and consisted of grocery store sandwich trays, veggies with dip, sliced cheese and crackers and a few choices of sweets that consisted of dollar store brownies, granola bars and I believe there might have been cookies. All food still in the plastic containers, much of it sitting without proper food temps. Tea was self-serve from two pump style coffee carafes with styrofoam cups that you then carried back to your seat. There was no being “served” anything.
The atmosphere was awkward to say the least. We had been invited to explore the grounds prior to the start of the food being set up, but after a short walk around the neglected property, most people just sat and waited. There was no music, no type of entertainment and really not even the happy chatter that one would expect during something that was supposed to be enjoyable. When it was time to eat, the hosts had also served themselves and sat with the rest of us. This surprised me on a couple different levels. First, how casual and assuming the owners were and secondly, because there hardly seemed to be enough food to go around and they were still waiting for several other guest to arrive. Most of us continued to sit in silence, while the hosts/owners talked about themselves. We were supposed to have had two hours for this “event”, but were informed that had been changed to an hour and a half since they had double-booked and were expecting a tour to show up. Our time being cut short was not an issue since almost everyone started leaving 20-30 minutes after the food was available. There really wasn’t much to do, see, or eat.
So, needless to say, we didn’t really enjoy the event and this was by no means what I would consider a tea party or tea service. I left feeling regret that I had already paid to do it again at the next event and feeling a bit cheated out of my money. We could have had a very nice meal at a nice restaurant for $40 a person.
The place really does seem to have a lot of potential if they had the funds to invest into maintenance and the tea could be so much more enjoyable if they could hire an event coordinator. I imagine the real appeal would be the actual inside of the castle, but again, that tour is not included in the cost of the event. As far as having our wedding there, it was not the place for us.
I understand the struggle of small business and wish the owners the best of luck with their hopes and dreams for this place.

Talk about a hidden gem in Monroe, WA, High Rock Castle. We had our wedding here over Labor Day weekend and when you think of a dream wedding venue, High Rock was perfect. We received so many compliments on how gorgeous the property is and how amazing the inside is as well. The details inside someone could spend hours just looking at. There were many compliments on the great room which is where we setup snacks for cocktail hour. The owners are amazingly good people to work with & just wanted us to have our dream wedding. A bonus they have almost everything you may need for the reception, tables, chairs, linens, decor and can use any of the items in the inventory. It truly is a hidden gem and there’s so many locations on site that you can just let your imagination take over. They offer many services on top of just venue which we took advantage of since who knows the property best than the owners.

We hired Angela to decorate and be our coordinator and she did an amazing job. We received so many compliments on how smooth the day went and really it’s all because of her amazing communication and organization skills, she truly thought of everything. She decorated our tables for us and was always available if we had any questions. We enjoyed our day without an hiccups knowing she had it under control. I would absolutely recommend using her services if it’s within budget. Thanks for our dream wedding Angela!

Highly recommend! Wonderful stay.

At the last minute, we needed a place to stay and Lady Angela was very gracious. What was going to be a run-of-the-mill local stay turned into a relaxing and fun long weekend. The castle was amazing and hosted well our little D&D game, but the grounds were absolutely wonderful. The highlight of our stay had to be sitting on the deck in the cool breeze watching the otter swim around the pond. We just won't mention how many fish we saw him eat.

Wow!! We held our 1st Book Club Anniversary at High Castle Rock. We are still amazed by the experience, from the view, the castle its self and of Lord and Lady of the house. We are already planning on celebrating more bookclub events here. The pictures definitely do not do it justice! You have to see to believe it! A short drive from Seattle, where you can a true getaway! The owners are responsive and communicative and willing to help with ideas. The scavenger hunt was so much fun! Again, 1000 of 10 recommend seeing it for yourself!
