I’m a small, custom fabricator that routinely needs sheet metal components that are laser cut and formed for incorporation into my products. I’ve, in the past, used the popular online services. My preference, however ,was to work with a business in my community. Out of the handful of local shops that are equipped to do my work, Newburgh Metals, was far and away the most responsive. Some wouldn’t even touch my work because the quantities weren’t enough to interest them. That’s not the case with NMI. From the start, I’ve been treated like a valued customer. The experiences I’ve had, start to finish, from quoting to pick up, have been excellent. The entirety of the staff that I’ve had the last measure of working with have been courteous and professional. Every product I’ve purchased from NMI has been dead on with accuracy and the physical quality of the products has been excellent. Finally a word about pricing and in time delivery. I’ve been in this business for just shy of 40 years. I’ve been around long enough to understand small lot pricing. I’ve seen other reviews here critical of their prices. NMI’s pricing is actually excellent in my opinion. I tend to think some don’t understand that there is a lot of upfront time invested in production. That’s not free, and shouldn’t be. Order 100 pieces and that expense feels easy to absorb. Order 1 or 2, expect to feel it. That being said, NMI has consistently met or beaten the competition on pricing. Delivery has been on time or early in every order I’ve placed. I’ve even asked for a two piece order to be expedited and they hey hit the mark, allowing me to delivery on time to my client.
