I am a recently graduated student from Jonathan Law High School & the prestigious Bridgeport Regional Aquaculture Science and Technology Education Center. My senior project for Aqua was building a 15ft flats boats. One of the very few done in the history of the school, this was a massive undertaking and one that I was not able to complete before I graduated.
Post graduation, I was hired by one of the contractors working out of Bridgeport Boat Works. Shortly after I started, I was given permission by Bridgeport Boat Works to bring my boat down and work on it on site at no charge. Once my boat was on property, everyone became invested in seeing my dream project come to completion. Since I have been there, I have worked in a state-of-the-art facility. I have been given the opportunity to utilize their paint booths and work with the best tools & workers in the industry. Thank you Bridgeport Boat Works for taking a chance and supporting a local kid! This has been the opportunity of a lifetime.

I had an excellent experience with Bridgeport Boatworks. Initially, I asked them to winterize my 29' 1986 Silverton, and they handled it efficiently. When spring came around, I returned to have them assess the boat for the upcoming summer. Despite working with a relatively small budget, they performed the necessary maintenance and repairs, ensuring my boat was in top shape for the season. Thanks to their work, I enjoyed a fantastic, worry-free summer with my family without any issues.

One of the things that really stood out to me was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. Over time, I've gotten to know both the mechanics and the management team, and they are truly wonderful people. The amount of advice and feedback here and there over the season that I’ve received from their experienced mechanics has been invaluable. In general whenever I needed work done or just had questions, they took the time to understand my needs, communicated clearly, and provided honest recommendations—never pushing unnecessary services. Bridgeport Boatworks is a family run yard with a FANTASTIC staff. We wintered there, and while the facilities are still being setup for pleasure craft (in the past they've primarily been a shipyard), the team went out of their way to make sure that we were cared for.

Example: On the day we were scheduled to depart the marina, we had an engine overheat. I brought the boat back in, opened the engine compartment, and was about to jump in and start troubleshooting (I typically do most of my own engine service work). Before I could even get a foot into the engine compartment, one of the yard's service leads, Sean, saw that something was up and literally jumped into the engine compartment and started collaborating with me. Between us, we got her running normally within an hour.

Now, a few things... It was a Sunday. I had no expectation that anyone from the yard would even BE there. Sean was there because he and his father were about to head out on his own boat. He took time out of his own day to jump in and lend a hand... it was more than anyone should reasonably expect from a yard, but it's representative of what we've seen at Bridgeport.

Our service managers, Ryan and Myles, are two of the nicest guys I've dealt with in a long time. As with any extended stay in a yard, there are going to be obstacles. There are going to be unexpected challenges. There might even be an occasional error or miscommunication between an owner and the yard. That's why finding a yard with people that you can trust and collaborate with is SO important. The team makes the yard... every time.

- If you want a great team...
- If you are looking for a BOAT YARD... not a "resort"...
- If you want a place where you can get your hands dirty working on your boat while knowing that there's an expert team at your disposal when you hit that project that's just too much...
- If you miss the days before equity companies owned everything...

Bridgeport Boatworks is the place for you. We'll be back for sure.

I can say from personal experience, Bridgeport Boatworks is a professional operation. I live in the Midwest and I bought a boat sight unseen from an owner who stored the boat at Brdgeport Boatworks. The team at BB checked the rudder and informed me that I may need new rudder bearings. As I was preparing for transport, the team at BB provided all the measurements for highway transport. The most important service was provided by the yard manager, Brian Leary, who told me to go with a marine transport company that uses a hydraulic lift. Based on Brian's advice, loading took less than 2 hours and the shipment and unloading went as smoothly as can be.

I just sept my 4th winter storage season at Bridgeport Boatworks .

Very knowledgeable, friendly and skilled personnel at Bridgeport Boatworks. The travel lift and boat moving equipment were in new condition.

The service manager went out of his way to meet me and the communications were excellent from both the office and service Department.

Security is phenomenal at Bridgeport Boatworks. Gated and well staffed. I didn’t even feel the need to lock the cabin on my boat all winter long.

A very clean yard with plenty of space, new blocking and poppets my boat was set right and secure at optimal height and angle for drainage.

I recommend Bridgeport Boatworks to those looking for a clean, secure boatyard with highly skilled crew.

3d season, 53 foot deep draft sloop on my very wobbly cradle, expertly hauled, stored, watched over, and launched thanks to Andy and Andrew who are clearly outstanding world class professionals, Shawn - the shop foreman, a fearless mechanic, has all the skills always ready to jump in and help with whatever, just a pleasure. Graham, absolutely amazing craftsman, artist , a perfectionist. Jenne’a also hugely helpful and always pleasant. Just to name a few… .
This is a huge clean highly secure very cool yard with very cool boats, fantastic camaraderie, and North sails right next door, The management team has been exceptionally tolerant of pushy owners who loiter at the yard for days on end asking annoying boat questions (That’s me)
Really truly appreciate Brian for enabling me to complete all the work on my mast under the shelter of that gigantic Quonset.
