I LOVED the Australian hat company!!! The couple that run it have been doing so for 35yrs. They are so sweet, and and fun to talk to. They have so many hats made from many different exotic materials!! Everyone should stop by and check it out!!!

The item I ordered 2 months ago online still has not been acquired. The order has been billed to me, and is shown as paid awaiting processing, They didn't bother to contact me until I reached out by email twice and two telephone calls. That was 2 weeks ago, I am currently awaiting their efforts to find what I'm looking for and a response to a message left this week.
Very Disappointing.

After buying a couple of Stetsons, I started to question their X ratings (what do they actually tell you about the quality/durability). I discovered it is defined by the manufacturer, there is no industry standard. So, the question is what are you actually buying as far as quality or durability. I actually asked Stetson Corp. what kind of felt was used in my 4X hat and the gave me a vague answer totally dodging my question. Enter Akubra, with a definable standard.
I like quality/durability and found it in Akubra (which is 100% rabbit felt) and can be worn in rain or snow and maintain it's integrity and has stood the test of time.
Which led me to the Australian Hat Outlet and Sandy the owner. Even though I am hundreds of miles from their shop and had to make my purchase over the phone, Sandy was absolutely committed to providing the best personal service and hat possible. She custom shaped my hat at no charge and is trying to provide a band I preferred, that comes with a different Akubra hat.
Anyway, in a world of waning customer service Sandy's courtesy and caring deeply impressed me, knowing that she wanted to provide the best hat and value possible for this man 2 states away.
If you are looking at buying a quality hat from a quality vendor, you need look no further.

If you wear hats or are thinking of it GO TO AUSTRALIAN HAT OUTLET. The hats are amazing as are the people who run the business. Small and quaint shop amazing hats for men, women and kids
Tell everyone and start wearing hats like people used to. Alligator, Buffalo, Kangaroo, PIG and Cow skin, as well as felt and hemp hats. I guarantee you'll find something.
