Interesting champaign meads with wild flower and root flavors that matched the flavor profile of the region. However for my husband and I, the bitterness and earthy flavors were not what we expected from a mead experience. We did both the classical and seasonal tasting and were able to find one which we thought was ok. If you are looking for the traditional honey mead experience, this is not quite it. But if you like more complex cocktails and bitters this may be fun for you.

Lovely spot where you can bring your own picnic and try specialty/local mead. The Hawaii lehua blossom was a standout. I suggest picking up some Pt. Reyes cheese & crackers from nearby and walking around the grounds

This was our second visit & it served as a reminder how wonderful the Heidrun Meadery is! The meads, made in the champagne method, are a diverse delight. From the California Orange Blossom, which is like a mimosa sans OJ, to the many other flavors, these sparkling meads can be paired with brunch, sushi, salmon and even BBQ!

The tasting experience is magical with the flora and fauna around the grounds that attracts the birds & the bees. So on point with the nature sustainability that their product is all about.

Stop here, smell the flowers, enjoy the tasting, get some to take home & don’t forget to get some honey too! I regret not remembering the name of the general manager who was a wonderful and informative host!

Simply the greatest place to get mead. It’s so peaceful and quiet and the property is gorgeous. Amazing old trees, green rolling hills, a beautiful tasting room. And every mead is better than the last. Mead is like fancy champagne or Prosecco but with honey as a main ingredient. Very gentle and elegant and they have so many cool honey-based products. It’s really a magical place with plenty of parking, friendly folks that work there and they work hard. They are almost Workaholics, they work so hard but they work hard to provide just the best high-end guest service but with very reasonable prices. Do yourself a favor and go by here! They will answer any questions you have about mead and always nice about its. Don’t forget to tip your bartender ? Thank you to Heidrun for a wonderful afternoon.

Heidrun makes spectacular meads that are simple and really let you experience where the honey came from. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon without reservation and they were able to accommodate us. We had both of their flights and learn about their process while enjoying great mead. The grounds are cute and nice to walk around.

9/6/2022, the day after Labor Day, unusual heat strikes this area. We almost canceled 1pm appointment because of the heat. But, we are glad to keep the appointment & stay there for almost 3-hr. Enjoyed chill honey champagne & shades of picnic area! I end up with half dozen of these unique “Honey Champagne”.

Honeys comes from different flowers & areas that mixed with pure water & special yeast produce these champagne-like-mead (hydromel). It’s new to me! Especially chilled in the ice in a hot summer day……. it just tastes great!

I like the Hawaii Lehua Blossom the best. I also like very much both the Point Reyes & Marin County Wildflower. Orange & Carrot blossom will be great with my seafood especially for oyster I think!

Coming here for a glass of chilled mead in a hot summer day with your favorite snacks at picnic area is a special experience!

Such a magical place.
All the mead was high quality and not too sweet, unlike cheaper, cloying meads one finds in grocery stores or at events.
The service was outstanding (shout out to Marina)!
Ambiance was unique and beautiful.
They're also prompting the health of the ecosystem by feeding our local pollinators.
Can't wait to come back!
