After years of promising myself to see their famous 1st order fresnel lighthouse lens we stopped by here and were blown away at how much this place had to show. From the native room to the former jail cells to the many many antiques one could return several times and see something they missed. Knowledgeable staff were super friendly, and helpful in definitely going back for several trips to fully appreciate the unique experience this place has to offer

The Museum used to be the county jail and police station. They have collected an incredible array of historic items from farming for the old lens used in a lighthouse. Probably spent over an hour exploring and could have stayed longer.

Awesome museum with a lot of cool displays and items on the history of the area. It was so much fun walking around and seeing all the different time periods and aspects of the county in display. The two ladies at the front desk were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely would stop in and walk around again

It's hard to describe and a true treasure. I could spend a week exploring it. Not a 5 star because there is some very disturbing history presented without much context or awareness. It's a lot and I can only imagine the impact on a person with Asian or Native American or Black identity. The staff were kind and full of stories about the historic shipwreck. I hope they embrace additional curation to bring more transparency and accountability to this truly special collection.

Local home-town museum. Lots to look at. Probably too much! Some displays are really well-done (especially the fresnel lens). Others are somewhat hodgepodge, but that's typical of a home-town museum. They even use the space in jail cells for display. A few of the displays are not easy to see because you are blocked off, or the display is behind reflective glass or behind jail cell bars. But for the price, this is a pretty nice museum.

If you appreciate local history, you'll enjoy this place. Dedicated group of volunteers maintain the museum, create exhibits and answer questions. Nominal $3 donation to enter..

One of the more interesting museum's we have been in, on the coast. It is $5 a person to get in. It was informative and diverse.
