It's hard to believe that a one-of-a-kind brewery like @whipsawbrewing could have begun with roots as humble as a Mr. Beer kit.

The name whipsaw comes an old logging term/tool. It was a two-person saw that required a lot of teamwork. The saw represented the founders' hard work to make the brewery/taproom a reality, as well as representing their roots; Those roots consist of over 35 years of logging.

We limped our way into their taproom mid-afternoon on a Sunday after spending the weekend at the Ancient Lakes. We couldn't have made a better decision.

This place was an absolute vibe. As soon as we drove up, we were blown away by their setup. They had an expansive patio with a variety of seating, most offering shade 😎

Inside, they had a large space with multiple tv's playing a good selection of games. The inside was mostly empty as the weather was a perfect "Wa 75" and everyone wanted to be outside. We chose to do the same.

Fantastic beer list and a wonderful environment! The BSB Brown Ale was out of this world!! The bartender was cool and I can’t tell you how good the food truck was outside! If you’re within two hours of here…..you have to come!!

The brewery was nicely decorated with antique logging decor. Dogs are welcome both inside and outside on the patio. The bartender was attentive and kept the bar very clean. There was a food truck next to it that a lot of customers ordered from and brought the food inside. Whipsaw Hacksaw Hazy IPA was one of the best IPAs that I have tasted. It had a juicy flavor, fruity aroma and a well balanced hops taste. If I didn’t live hours away, I would be a regular there every week!

Simple warm and friendly place with some pretty delicious brews. The dogs made for a great atmosphere too. I lucked out and got some really good food from a food truck as well.

Tonight with 10 of my friends and myself (Hispanic) went to Whipsaw Brewery for the first time with a group of my college friends, I am 21 however I still have a vertical ID so they did not serve me (which I understand and accepted fully) It is not a 21 and up establishment so we stayed for Bingo. I only bring up my ID because it seemed like that kicked of the treatment from staff to me. I want to preface I wasn't even reallly planning on drinking so not being served was not an issue to me.About half an hour in another girl from our group went up to order something and when she came back she told me the bartender said she was going to have to kick me out due to my outfit. 1. She was upset about my shorts which where barely higher than mid thigh as i was also wearing a sweatshirt so I couldn't have been revealing that way. 2. She never came to speak to me she spoke to my friend which is unprofessional and rude. Once my friend spoke to me about this I decided to leave and spoke to her on my way out which is when she told me I was dressed to inappropriately. Mind you before that the owner of this establishment came and spoke to my whole group saying we looked underage (no one was under 21) at which point if my shorts were an issue he could have said something to me. I also spent the duration of my time here sitting at a table with my friends. I didn't even get up to use the bathroom so I am not sure how she even decided my shorts were inappropriate. Everyone else around me had basic clothing same as me. I was then told that other patrons (there were no other people of color in the establishment) were scared of me and was then asked to leave. It was all very confusing, I've never been so humiliated in my life. I don't suggest whipsaw brewery to anyone who is a person of color or is even tan.

Blueberry beer and oat stout were a hit. Thank you to the bartender for fixing up a can of the stout. My daughter drank it at her reception and enjoyed the flavor very much.
