Sadly, they've cleared most of the riparian buffer areas that are needed for native flora & native habitats, which helps shade & partially protect the unique brackish pond from the impact of adjacent park land use. The buffer plays a key role in increasing water quality, filtering pollution, providing many environmental benefits to fish, frogs, local & migratory birds, nesting birds, turtles, snakes, native plants like the swamp rose mallow... Sadly, I've witness more and more of the pond's riparian edges being cleared yearly. There are plenty of places along the water's edges for people to fish. I wish they would allow the natural riparian buffers to grow back.

Interesting place to visit and learn about different ecosystems in our area. The well fields are saltwater lakes and have saltwater plants growing there. It's crazy but true!

Needs a cleanup, trash is everywhere and it's sad. Needs to be stocked and water needs to be treated. Fun place to fish, just needs a big cleanup.
