Stop by today in search of some wood slabs, and as soon I walked in, I was greatly by one of the employees. She took me around and gave me a tour of the place and provided me with a list of services they offer. Another employee "Anthony" showed me different types of wood slabs that I could use for my projects. The prices are reasonable for the quality of wood they have. I will definitely would go back for my projects. Thanks for the help.

Update: So I got a few slabs of woods, beautiful pieces to make small tables, plaques, and other stuff for my family.

Early last year in February, we commissioned a custom game table from The Workshop and have had an overall negative and disappointing experience.

The process began positively. We sent an initial email and were pleasantly surprised to receive a quick response from one of the co-owners. He was responsive and seemed genuinely interested in our project. Within a week, we developed a draft plan and met in the shop to finalize the details. Rebecca was super helpful and kind, though she seemed somewhat apprehensive about the March completion timeframe she initially proposed. However, when we expressed that a September completion would make us ecstatic, she reacted in a way that suggested the project would be completed well before then. This gave us the impression that we were placed in a queue and the project would commence once it was our turn. We put down a 30% deposit and eagerly awaited progress.

Two months passed without any updates, prompting us to follow up. Replies were slow and non-committal, and after some pressing, we were given a completion date of mid-June. That date came and went with no progress. When we requested an updated timeline, we were told that the project plans hadn't even been finalized. Five months in, we still had no start date.

Communication throughout this process has been extremely poor. Despite initiating numerous follow-ups and check-ins, including requests for estimated completion dates, we still have no idea what is going on. Our expressions of frustration and disappointment seem to be of no concern, as responses often included vague assurances that our project was “coming up soon.”

When we requested a meeting to discuss the design and obtain a firm completion date, David, the co-owner, indicated that only he could handle it and delayed the meeting until he had a finalized design. This further added to our frustration, making us feel sidelined and left in the dark about the project's status.

Months later we’re told something completely contradictory. That The Workshop was attempting to hire someone for the job and that the new hire has continued to push back his start date. The co-owner said he was disappointed with the progress on the project and that he’d end up having to do the work himself - something we had thought was already in the works. David, the co-owner, then suggested that he’d had more lucrative projects going on and that he’d eventually get to ours. This conversation ended with him revising his initial estimate by 55%.

We felt obligated to continue with so much time sunk into this. We should have cut and run.

It’s now the middle of February and they haven’t even started.

Overall, while The Workshop has created fantastic pieces in the past, our experience has been marred by atrocious communication, a complete lack of transparency, repeated delays, and no tangible progress. We hope they can improve their ability to communicate effectively, set proper expectations, and revamp their general customer service for future clients. Our excitement for the final product has been overshadowed by the stress and frustration of this prolonged process.

Recommend either going in knowing you won’t get what they promise in the time they set for themselves or avoiding altogether.

My wife and I took a pen making class from instructor Chris. For both of us it was our first time making pens. Chris was able to demonstrate the use of a lathe, and how to shape a square block into a round pen. Materials were all provided and the equipment was in good working order. Fun and educational way to spend a couple hours making saw dust and walking away with a functional object.

Visited the workshop yesterday to get some milling done for a white oak box project. The shop manager did an outstanding job on my white oak wood. I was also given a tour of the shop which is an excellent setup for woodworker’s young and old! Keep up the good work!

I visited with my husband and son today and we were very impressed! Wonderful facility with all the equipment and supplies you could need. A welcoming sense of community. It feels like a pleasant place to learn and work, and there's clearly a lot of expertise available to help the beginner get started or the experienced woodworker get better. We signed up for the Introduction to Woodworking class.

Great workshop and fantastic staff! They came in clutch to help me complete a project that was under a time constraint they knocked it out of the park! They were also great with my kid when we went to pick up the finished product, teaching him and pointing out things.

I had a safety course and orientation today.
Mr. Tim took the time to show me how
each machine works properly and safely.
I am going to be making some furniture
for my Granddaughters!
So I have much to learn in the weeks ahead but it should be really enjoyable!

What a great experience! From picking the “species” of wood for my island project, watching Master Tim at work along with his delivery of woodworking knowledge on every step along the way; to spending a few hours working on that wood myself. The result was a beautiful, unique piece of functional art. The process of watching it come to life was even better.
