I want to start off first by saying, I never give bad reviews on restaurants because usually, where one or two things are bad, something else makes up for those things. When recalling our dining experience at The Brewery in Blackstone, VA, there was nothing that even deserved a 1 star. We walked in around 2pm on a Saturday. We were greeted and told to sit where we wanted. We chose a booth on the left and after a quick glance around, realized there were very few people. I believe the manager (a lady) handed us menus and a paper with the beers listed) The waitress walks by and stops, dramatically, and looks surprised that we are sitting there. She walks past us and helps the booth next to us and when she comes back just stands at our table. I couldn’t tell you her name cause she never introduced herself. I finally spoke up and told her what drinks we wanted and she just walks away. We wanted appetizers but figured she’d get that order when she comes back. We wait a while for three teas and the manager comes back and asks for our drink order and we told her we already gave it to our waitress so she starts to take our food order. We order #16 wings (with two flavors) for appetizers, a $31 steak with baked potato and blue cheese on my salad, and two salmon dinners for my husband and dad. After waiting 45 minutes, the waitress brings out the wings and MY steak dinner. I told her as she’s trying to walk away that we need silverware. She huffs away and at that time I realized I did not have salad dressing or steak sauce. She comes back with the silverware and tries to walk away again and I’m like I’m sorry but I need these things. She brings me back RANCH and huffs away again like we’re bothering her. My husband and father had to eat their wings on a napkin cause she didn’t give them plates. We wait another hour and they still do not have their salmon dinners. My baked potato was almost too hard to eat. My steak was so tough I had to saw through it and then pull it apart. My husband and I were sharing a drink at this point. I finally got up, after that hour, and went to pay the check and it was our waitress that was at the register. I told her to take off the salmon dinners cause we never got them. She was mad and said she needed to go speak to someone. She goes in the back and after a few comes back out and says she took them off it’ll be $72 ..something. She never says sorry or even told me what was taking so long. There was another woman standing at the counter waiting for a to go order and was also irritated. When we got in the car we realized they double charged us for the wings. Like I said before, if one part of this dining experience had been good I wouldn’t even care about the rest. We just enjoy being out with each other making memories. But the staff was rude, service was terrible, the food was horrible for the prices….i could go on. We are moving to Virginia and we’re looking for some good restaurants near us and the brewery/restaurants in Philadelphia are amazing and we were thinking we hit the jackpot with one being so close to our new home. It really was a let down. I do not recommend this place at all. I would almost go as far to say I’d be surprised if this place is still in business by the end of the year if there aren’t dramatic changes.

In town visiting and stopped into The Brew House and so glad I did. Cool spot to hang out. Their beer selection is insane. Had the Texas Tango Burger. The sweet BBQ sauce makes this such a fantastic burger. Tater tots were crispy, and the service was very attentive. Food came out pretty quickly. Definitely need to go back and try more burgers.

I went there today because I heard it was good and the rebiews on Google looked decent. Walked in, waited a while for a hostess to come in and seat us (no one else there), and then waited 10 minutes for a server to come over and take our order. We waited 15 minutes for a Shirley temple, a water, and a lemonade. And then another 30 minutes for fried fish and grilled chicken and the food was not hot when it was brought to our table, it was warm at best. The place is not run well, and the servers don't fully know what they're doing.

My husband and I were out of towners on the weekend of April 18th. The Brew House was recommended by the Inn where we stayed. Now we knew that it closed at 11:00. However, we arrived a little before 10:00 at the restaurant. The sign read "Please wait to be seated." We stood at the door for at least 5 minutes before my husband went to the bar where he was told we could sit anywhere. We waited for a long time to be waited on. When we finally received the menus the waitress asked if we needed time to order. We replied yes. However it took her forever to come back so again my husband walked to the bar. He asked for the wings. They said they were out. However this was what they had on the nighttime menu. So he ordered two orders of onion rings. The waitress finally made her way back to the table and asked if we wanted to order appetizers. My husband told her he ordered the onion rings at the bar. I explained that they said they were out of wings so do they have the oysters. She said yes. Our onion rings and oysters arrived minutes later. The onion rings and oysters were highly burnt and disgusting. We could tell they were cooked in old grease. The coating was covered with crumbs from the bottom of the grease pan. I ate half of one onion ring and one oyster. My husband tried to stomach two. Mind you we were starving. I must say that their dipping sauce was good. His cocktail he ordered was not the best either. 😕 I did mentioned to the waitress that the food was disgusting. She bowed her head and apologized. We felt like they just didn't want to serve anyone else that night because another couple came in behind us and experienced the same thing. At least they had the sense to leave after waiting too long to be served. We asked for the check. We really didn't want to pay for the disgusting inedible meal. I've never had the desire to evaluate a restaurant before, but I felt like this needed to be said. If they didn't want to serve anyone that night, they should have just said the kitchen was closing. We would have went to McDonald's instead. Lesson learned.

My experience here was not great at all. After ordering my food, it took almost an hour and a half to receive it. The restaurant was not busy at this time. I ordered a simple chicken sandwich with a side salad as my side. When the food finally arrived, it appeared to look right but the sandwich was cold as if it had been sitting for some time. The salad I ordered had ingredients that I requested to be removed. To top it off, I received no silverware to eat it.

love the variety on the menu! most items you have the option of a brioche bun, gf bun, wrap, & arugula or rice bowl & you can also substitute the protein of your choice -- there's something for just about everyone! not to mention the drinks, deserts, & atmosphere really bring it all together

Ate here with my family multiple times. Loved it each time.
Friendly wait staff. Cool decor. Live music on Fridays. Vintage arcade in the back for the kiddos. Food was rich and satisfying. Great selection of craft beers. The place is popular for good reason. Staff are sometimes stretched too thin.

Nice place for relaxing and have fun with friend. Have a great variety of beers. I like places like this and taste different beers, it like play a lottery, you don’t if is a good or bad beer, if good enjoy, if is bad, drink anyway, you go pay for that.
Also the have karaoke’s nights.
