The woman at the front desk and the man who I think was a nurse? were some of the friendliest, kindest people who were easy to talk to and made my visit a breeze despite being in severe pain. Answered all my questions and took me seriously. The medical doctor listened to my concerns and gave me clear instructions. He was a little abrupt at times and at one point I felt a little like I had to explain myself but nothing too serious and I think it came for a place of concern. All in all I received excellent, prompt care and am already slowly feeling better. Crisis averted. I only hope I don’t run into the same billing issues many other reviewers have mentioned. Fingers crossed!

While happy to have a local place to go in the event of an emergency, initially we were treated as a joke - I called about 5:15 pm because my spouse spiked a 103.8 fever in a very short time. We made it over the center (we are from another state) only to be referred to as "fever guy" in a tone not professional in any manner, as well as being told "we were warned about you." We were spoken to like we were uneducated in fever related illnesses; our child had just gotten over pneumonia herself. Rather than truly assess my husband's condition that included a deep lung cough they told us to rotate the Advil/Tylenol - which we were doing, take Vitamin C and rest, well now three days later (we left the next day), my husband has bilateral pneumonia and is septic. Had the doc actually listened to our concerns about his cough and initial high fever we could have started antibiotics that day and avoided what will now be a 3-4 day hospital stay, thank goodness for Mayo Clinic.

In the last 6 days I have requested twice to have some of my X-rays taken on July 3rd 2024 sent to my patient portal account. Both times they have sent over my x-rays from March 16, 2024. I have no use for my X-rays from 4 months ago after I’ve had another surgery since then. It has been constant incompetency from Telluride Med Center for the last 10 months of my injury. I would give zero stars if I could.

Great service received from doctors and nurses. Terrible billing experience. Spent way too much time trying to get my excellent insurance to pay for an ambulance ride and wasn't being paid due to this place billing it improperly. Had a conference call with all involved where we walked them through the billing code issue and how all they needed to do was change the code and it would be paid. They never did it. I spent hours and hours on this and never got it handled. They just didn't care enough to fix their mistake. I ended up having to pay out of pocket for an ambulance ride because they had it coded as an ambulance non-emergency ride to a doctor appointment and not that my son was knocked unconscious on the ski slope and the ambulance took him to the emergency room, which is what actually happened. The woman here later said they have this problem "all the time with Blue Cross and Blue Shield." Of course you do, you're not doing it right. Clearly an emergency and I just paid it to avoid further hassle. Thanks a lot!

I visited the medical center in April 2016. The treatment I received for a knee injury while skiing was fine. There wasn't much they could do for me at the time other than give me a brace and treat the pain. What I didn't realize is that the pain had just started. I paid my copay. Several weeks later when I received the rest of the bill I noted what my insurance company covered and I paid the rest, $254. A few weeks after that I received another bill for the same amount. I called the office and told them it had been paid. The woman from billing said she needed proof from my insurance company. I went through that process, got the info she requested and sent it to them. Several weeks later I received another bill for the same amount, $254. I called and explained that between Blue Cross and myself it had been paid in full. The woman from billing said "they lie all the time." Several weeks later I received a notice from a collection agency. Now, 6 years later I received 2 notices from the collection agency for $254 and a second for the original $362 that had been paid. If you get hurt in Telluride you have to go here. If you do, keep detailed documentation of your billing because they are untrustworthy in that regard.

My family and I have been patients at the Telluride Medical Center for close to two decades, and they've always been absolutely wonderful - we're incredibly grateful to them. Most recently I had a skiing accident and the whole team was just incredible. Then my husband threw his back out, and again they were amazing - we love everyone there and their care, compassion and expertise.
