My husband and I did 2 trips with Telluride Outside. We did a mountain pass trip for waterfalls and mountain views with Matt and we were the only 2 on the ride. It was amazing to say the least. He was knowledgeable about the area and places to pull off for beautiful views.

We took a fly fishing trip with Travis which was equally as spectacular. He took his time to make sure we were able to catch some fish. We made several stops and he was able to give us an experience we won't soon forget.

This was our second time to use Telluride Outside for our snowmobile adventure. Our guide, Andrew, was phenomenal! He explained details of our trip, he gave us options on our advanced tour and he delivered! There were six people in our family group and we all had a blast, especially at ‘The Circus’! We had an absolutely unforgettable snowmobiling adventure with Telluride Outside! Andrew, our guide, was incredible—knowledgeable, patient, and so much fun. Our kids, ages 8 and 6, had the time of their lives riding through the snowy trails, and Andrew made sure they were engaged and safe the entire time. The views were breathtaking, with snow-covered peaks and pristine wilderness everywhere we looked. It was the perfect mix of excitement and natural beauty. A must-do experience for families visiting Telluride!

We did the 4-hour 4WD Ophir Pass Tour and had a wonderful time. When we booked it, it was described as the tour that is between others offered that either are a smoother ride or are more rugged.
We wanted an off-road experience and, although it was somewhat rugged, it was fine.
Greg Roby was our guide. He is very knowledgeable, extremely friendly and very accommodating. I recommend him without any reservation.
We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which was an added convenience.
Fortunately, there were only 4 of us on the tour, which made it very pleasant. It would have been a different experience if the vehicle had been full (up to 6-8 people, I believe) -- that is, a tighter fit in the vehicle; more time unloading and loading people at each stop; and possibly waiting for those who wander off to take photos -- so that is a consideration, although there's not much you can do about it if you want to take a tour.
There are 2-hour tours that are also offered but 4 hours seems like the right amount of time because there is a lot of ground that can be covered.

My daughter treated me to the Telluride Outside guided tour to Alta Lake/Ghost Town - mining town the day before we left for home. Telluride Outside was very accommodating as we didn’t want to do the Ophir Pass and Heather stated that there was another family that just wanted to see the Alta Lake and the Gold King Mining town. I am ashamed to say that I didn’t catch our guides name but I believe he said his name was Matt. I hope I have his name correct because he was just awesome!
Telluride Outside pickup us up from our condo and returned us back after the tour, which I thought was great!
The weather was rainy at the base of the road leading to Alta Lake but once we arrived at the top, it started snowing. It was just magical!
The guide let us get out of the jeep and take photos of the lake. We arrived in the mining town and most of the old wooden buildings had fallen over but the guide did a wonderful job explaining what each building was and how the mine was operated.
He had a pick axe in the jeep and started breaking some rocks in the discard pile from the old mining days in the 1940’s. He pointed out minerals in the rocks and showed us samples of fools gold, copper, geodes, and pyrite.
He took us to some other lakes on the mountain and drove down the hwy a bit to show us three water falls. It was an amazing day that we will remember for always!

This was the perfect activity for us during a recent off-day from skiing. Heather called me the night before just to make sure our guide Brian knew where to pick us up and confirmed our trip details.

Brian was great, having grown up here and clearly studied on the geology and historical significance of the area, he made the trip fun and interesting. I’m happy to leave the 5-star review and encourage anyone interested to quit thinking about it and book your trip today!!
