Nice enough… but I don’t like inconsistency. Don’t allow something and then a few weeks decide not to. Use your portal because that’s the only way to effectively talk to your primary care physician. You leave a message with the nurse staff and it wont be successful. If I have an issue I can’t get in to see my doctor in time and usually have to go to urgent care. Today urgent care is a 3 hour wait and they won’t let you sit in your car all of a sudden.

When I tell you EVERY single person who helped me last night was so wonderful! Was experiencing some abdominal pain that lasted a few days so we made the drive to see what was going on. I am certainly grateful we did! Every nurse, doctor, front desk associates, AND the radiologist were so nice and understanding! And most importantly, they made sure they found what was wrong and kept me there for a bit for monitoring to be safe before sending us home. An absolutely amazing facility. Thank you!

As a medical professional, American Veteran and medical world traveler for over 42 years, I am rarely taken off guard with my personal health. After today, Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma has the lowest scores in patient care, communication skills and the highest scores in employee snark and failed leadership.

I have an issue with Barrett Binbrige R.N. who works with the Gastroenterology Department. He angrily told me today that my March 17, 2025 V.A. Request For Service for an urgent cardiac clearance before an urgent surgical procedure was not sent because he stopped the transmission without informing the surgeon or the patient... me. He further stated that, "You should go to another Gastroenterology Clinic, we don't want you here".

I may be a retired Navy surgical PA, but R.N.'s don't make these decisions to stop critical patient care ordered by doctors. It's illegal at best and the Washington State Board of Nursing will find out if this is an ongoing decision making process by Barrett for all patients looking for care at the Gastroenterology clinic in Elma.

Now you would think my phone calls to human resources, the patient advocates (called patient experiencers) would move forward to contact me and follow up on this incident, but this hasn't happened professionally. No documentation of incident, no moving it up to the leadership. Instead, I got promises of phone calls and got crickets instead. No doubt scrambling to find the lawyers phone number.

I called the front desk operator who didn't know the names of the CEO or Medical Director I actually named for her. Said she didn't have numbers for offices associated with those names. I asked for the Head Nurse, Tori, but she was out of the office. So leadership is not a solution and neither are the doctors who have staff who leave 'we're not here, leave a message, we'll get back to you next week'. These clinic doctors don't have emails to contact them to find out if they even know their orders are being cancelled. For the average patient, they rely on the ethics of staff to actually do their jobs.

If you love staff mayhem, dangerously clueless employees, no communication and no leadership, you'll love Summit Pacific in Elma, WA For me, I'm going back to the V.A. who just arranged my surgical procedure in 10 minutes. Sure, I have to travel to Seattle, but I'll be safe from the staff at Summit Pacific.

Went into Summit for an ordered X-ray. Annie at the check in desk was friendly, smiling and so helpful. Barbie in radiology was delightful, professional and efficient. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer way to complete a doctor’s order and welcome in spring.

It’s sad that I have to leave a bad review but due to the nature of what happened it should be done so other people know. Back in the beginning of March my daughter seem like she was sick and not eating, which was very unusual for her so my wife brought her here. First, she started out at urgent care, but they told her she needs to go to the ER for possible imaging, which is fine and understandable. So my wife takes her there and they’re doing all kinds of test and in the middle of doing that they kept giving her Sugar drip which intern made her sugar levels chaotic. So they thought maybe she might be diabetic. Then they told my wife that she needs to be transferred by ambulance to Tacoma children’s Hospital, even though my wife asked if she could just take her herself, they told her no she must go by ambulance. Mind you, my daughter does not seem like she’s in any kind of dire situation but my wife went along with their recommendation and went with her on the ambulance up to Tacoma. As soon as she got to Tacoma, she was up there for less than an hour seeing doctors and they cleared her to go home and said there’s absolutely nothing wrong with her and everything is fine. They looked over her test and said she must just have a stomach bug and should be fine in the next day or two. And yes, she was fine and so continues to be fine.

My biggest issue is the fact that they told my wife that she must be taken by ambulance to Tacoma not that it was an option she had to be taken that way. When we went to her pediatrician after all this and told them what happened they said they should’ve never gave her a sugar drip either and they messed up by doing that. It turns out yes my wife could have taken her. We just needed to sign a release form but they didn’t tell us that they told us we have to take her by ambulance and that’s that. So make sure if you ever have this issue to question them about it because now we are stuck with an ambulance bill even though I called their billing office and said you guys are the ones that messed up on everything And my wife into taking a mandatory ambulance ride that technically was not mandatory and that they should make it right at least on the ambulance side of it. I think Dane or Drake was the name of somebody. I talk to in that office like I said it’s been since March hard to remember exact name. They said they were going to look into it and take care of it. We paid all the other bills and everything else from the whole experience and have not seen anything about an ambulance ride until two days ago. Clearly the hospital did not want to make it right and it’s crazy that we’re this many months later finally getting something from the ambulance company.

I will definitely be leaving this bad review and other reviews for them across different platforms the Better Business Bureau and I’ll also make a complaint to the Washington state health department. It is very disappointing that Summit Pacific has decided to be this way.

They said that my insurance covered my visit and now I'm getting billed. I get that cheap tactics are industry standard, but they shouldn't be. Health care costs need to be transparent immediately for people to make educated financial decisions regarding their health. If there wasn't so much money to be made in healthcare, would we need the monolithic bureaucracy crushing every penny out of us?

Hospitals (and the insurance companies that run them) are not charities. Don't let the thin veil of altruism fool you into thinking they're any better than everyday grifters. Apply their pricing strategies to any other industry.

Also, waiting 3 hours doesn't seem very urgent. Try, 'same-day care', and just give people a number when they show up like the dmv, and shoot them a text when their slot is in 20 minutes or something. Probably could have cured my cough with Robitussin by the time I was seen.

I'm just upset with the diagnosis and then the issues that have occurred since. Fix ur process for the patients not ur bottom line. I find out I have a rare disorder that's going to be a long road to recovery. And I am now waiting for the referral to be sent after severl days and for a second time the medication has yet to make it to the pharmacy. Needless to say the stress from this dosnt help my situation. Do better please
