pleasant experience taking my Outback for the first service. Easily accessible from i-495, Express service requires no appointment in advance, the whole service took roughly 1 hour, comfortable waiting lounge. WiFi sadly wasn't working on my phone (password authentication problem) so I hope the matters would be addressed soon. 4.8/5 !

On 3/15 I made my first inquiry, a thread which eventually died despite following up twice about the addition of roof racks but in which I asked about a deposit.

On 3/20 eve - 3/21 AM, I emailed the sales manager (no reply) and then called the main line - stating my intent to come purchase the vehicle that day but that I needed confirmation of it's availability as the dealership was 6hrs from my home and 4hrs from my location at the time. I was assured it was and requested an exact figure so that, on the way, I could obtain a certified check. I asked, again, about a deposit but was told there was no need as I was on the way.

Despite making the salesperson aware of of my arrival time to the bank, I waited an additional 30 min for the figure and then proceeded towards the DC area with the certified funds. I explained I would be selling my car elsewhere, taking a 30m uber, and gave an ETA to Stohlman of 4pm. I also asked 3 times about the remaining life of the tires and was only told "they are all the same"

At 2:30pm, the salesperson called to inform me the vehicle 1) wasn't available 2) another customer had put a $100 deposit on it 3) even if I arrived, they could not sell the car to me. Speaking to the sales manager was offered but I reiterated he had not replied to my email from 7 hours prior.

3 days later, when the car was still listed on all sites, I reached back out to the salesperson to ask if, in consideration of the 10+ hour driving I was forced to do on Friday, they would consider concessions - floor mats and delivery to Norfolk VA (location of closest place I could sell my current vehicle and 3 hours from Stohlman). His response: "if you walk through the door today, you will be purchasing the vehicle on the agreed terms. And there won't be any concessions made behind agreed terms"

While this was not a $50K+ vehicle, I did everything in my power to be transparent - to arrive organized, on time, and with all details in order. The fact that, in consideration of all this and the 10+ hours I was forced to drive because of their negligence, it seemed a 3-hour delivery would be a reasonable request.

While I understand this dealer is afforded the luxury of a large buyer pool, many who are likely affluent, it seems out of area or "average" buyers may not enjoy the same experience as that of others in their reviews.

Edited to add: Jay Gibson reached out and was incredibly professional, apologetic, and thorough. I am appreciative of his efforts (to expand upon the challenges of the transaction) and only wish I could say the same for his colleagues.

Casey and Harry were wonderful. I got the help I need. Understanding my financial position and the value of my trade was the Harry’s best help to me. He listened and offered the solutions.
Casey was patient with me in very busy days at Stohlman dealership. At first, she found my in the parking lot wondering if I can do a deal. She approached me and offered to help.
I am happy now I can drive a reliable car and trust the staff for all my needs. They care and pay attention to what you need. A family owned enterprise. You can feel the difference.

A friend of mine had a great experience at Tyson’s Stohlman Subaru and highly recommended her salesman. I made an appt with Gerry and very glad that I did. He was extremely knowledgeable about the car and all the basics as well as the bells and whistles. I did not feel pressured to buy at all, but fell in love with the car, 2025 Forester Limited. The financing process went smoothly as well. The sales manager thanked me as I was leaving with my new vehicle. They offer a follow up meeting with a specialist within a couple weeks of owning the vehicle to answer any questions on the technology or any other part of the car. I love that they take this extra time with new car owners. I would highly recommend this dealership as well as the salesman, Gerry.

When we bought our first Subaru in 2016, we enjoyed the experience, the professionalism, and the quality of interaction and service that we made the pledge to only buy from Stohlman Subaru of Tysons Virginia. Since then, my wife bought a 2022 Outback, and just this week I purchased my first car a 2024 Subaru Impreza RS.

Honestly, one of the most important feelings I get when I go to the Show room is that they give a damn about what I Want. They aren't going to sell me something that I don't want, need, and they have never pressured us in our purchases.

I recommend this location to anyone that asks about buying a car. This last interaction with Wilfredo was amazing. I dumped on him the night before that I wanted to trade in my car and buy a new one the next day. He had our car appraised and the new car in theot before I showed up the next day, EVEN though he had over appointments.

That the level of service you get. That's the professionalism and quality of service that shines for me.

Also, the car is amazing. I also know my cars are in the best hands when we need service.
