I had a fantastic experience at Steamboat Sports while renting equipment for our trip! We rented skis, snowboard, helmets, snow pants, and boots, and everything was in great condition. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Ariel, in particular, was amazing—she helped me find the perfect fit for my boots and skis, and she was not only professional but also a pleasure to interact with. If you’re staying at the Sheraton Resort and need to rent ski gear, Steamboat Sports is an excellent option. It’s conveniently located on the basement level of the hotel, making it easy to pick up your equipment, and the overnight storage service is a huge bonus. Highly recommend this place for anyone in need of ski rentals!

Highly Recommend! Huge selection of gear in both summer and winter. Goggles, helmets, shirts, pants, jackets, socks, gloves, sunglasses and kids gear. Bikes for rent in the summer and ski/boards in the winter. The staff is helpful as they are kind and knowledgeable. This shop is clean and the different brands they carry are many. Right at the base of the mountain in the bottom of the Sheraton, the location is convenient and practical. Bonus…this shop is right near the restrooms. Will be back.

Bought a Steamboat Ski Resort shot glass for about $10. There was no label/sticker on the glass that said "hand wash only", so I put it in the dishwasher. After washing it in the dishwasher for the 1st time, the Steamboat label came right off. Basically paid $10 for a plain shot glass. If you buy glassware here, I would recommend hand-washing. Overpriced and cheap product!

We’ll see how it all plays out, but I bought a pair of high end ski pants Fire and Ice brand retail $650 made by Bogner. They fit great. A number of things happened they had an inconsistent return policy. When I got the pants home it looks like it’s been worn before or it had small burn marks, which is really odd.. But wait, there’s more when I put water on the pan while wearing it just soaked up the water and ice. My leg felt wet. It was springtime when I did it just to test the fabric.
I called American Express and they credited me and said everything was settled in my favor. Then sports responded and said that it was a different pair of pants so it made everything Nolan Boyd considerably less expensive. FYI, all pants in their store waterproof per the manager. Which only makes sense. So I resubmitted the claim they’re closed and they misrepresented the truth. Again, we’ll see what happens between American Express and the Sheridan sports retailer at the base of mountain.

I bought a pair of $165 gloves, and the stitching came loose in under 24 hours. When I brought the gloves with the receipt to try to exchange them, they told me they wouldn't do anything about it because the gloves touched the snow. After spending over $950 just in merchandise with them, you would think they would be more attentive to the quality of their customer service. On the remaining 2 days of my trip I have a glove with a giant hole on the side of it, and the the whole point of buying a high quality pair from this store was to avoid a situation like this.

Save your money and go somewhere else.
