I came to this ACE location after being told they have the product in stock I was looking for, found the item purchased and went on my way.

Come to find out I purchased the wrong product, no big deal. The gentleman who helped me locate the item, told me it’s returnable if it’s the wrong item. Well, came to return the item and the older lady behind the counter, she was shorter with short black hair refused my return after I was told it was returnable. The older man behind the counter joined in and also refused to help the situation and they turned me away. Quite disappointed with this level of customer service.. There was no willingness to help, discuss or make things right. I mean I know it’s Ace hardware and all but I thought they were better than that!!

UPDATE: Delivery was on time and communication was great. They had two guys help to unload and felt they went above and beyond!

I had been trying to purchase specific item for Christmas online for 3 days without success. Walked into the store and everyone was so friendly and very helpful. I was able to purchase item and it will be delivered on time before Christmas. Will definitely use them again !

Liquid propane is usually ¢.50-$1 cheaper per gallon at the Stanley Shores Ace compared to every other seller in town. Including the other Ace locations. IDK why. Good service as well. They keep the popcorn replenished.

Looking for an item listed as on sale, so when I was directed to the item it so happened to have the sticker on it showing the sale I was looking for. Come to find out the item is incorrect and the manager proceeds to tell me that scammers come in with fake stickers all the time. I understand how people are scumbags and can empathize with that, although this sticker was an ace hardware sticker meaning somebody (an empolyee) put the sticker on the incorrect item. There was no attempt to honor the price, because in this case it was their fault and he had stated that they have never stocked that particular item, again confirming their employee was in the wrong, whoever places the sale stickers. All I got was an excuse that all aces are individually owned and that they stock different items. Ace is a scam placing items on sale that are not in stock, trying to force you to order over an amount to get "free shipping." This manager on duty, unfortunately did not do enough to rectify the situation, even offer some sort of discount for the time wasted or inconvenience. The manager did call another store and found 1 in stock somewhere else, but that is more of my time and gas to get half of what I was looking for. It's a shame franchises like these try and bank on the correct item not being in stock and settling and paying more that what you originally intended. Ps as a manager, you should offer multiple solutions and not one that just dismisses the customer's time. This is why I avoid this chain.

I was purchasing a Stihl Chainsaw as a gift for my husband. I knew "somewhat" of the specs that interested him and knew he wanted a Stihl, other than that...I needed help! Jim guided me every step of the way! Applying the training he obtained from the manufacture, used the kiosk to ask important questions and quizzed me for a comprehensive understanding of the elements and use of the chainsaw. After all his research, connecting w/his manager for potential manufacturer "specials", I was 100% confident in my purchase of a very expensive gift. He demonstrated the saw before loading it in my car so I left knowing the item was in good working condition. Well done Jim and I am grateful for your approach, patience and customer service!
In addition, every single staff member that passed me, asked what they could do to help. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to actually have people offer to help as opposed to the "big box" stores where you spend 30 minutes chasing someone down.

Great place. The staff is knowledgeable. They offer propane refills at a cheaper price than an exchange, as well as pipe threading.

My experience at the Standley Shores Ace Hardware was good. That said, I had a very unpleasant experience with another Ace Hardware store that I don't want to go back to. This means that I will find what I want at a different company when it's more convenient than going to the Standley Lake store.

Came here three times. 2/3 the separate associates did not respond in a respectful manner. Came in for an application the first time and the lady acted shrewdly and how I wouldn’t be a good fit. The second time a year later the associate laughed at the questions I asked saying I could look anywhere else for my items. There will not be a fourth time I come here. I miss when Aces had popcorn machines 🙁
