Don't run a restaurant but love buying restaurant-grade kitchen supplies from a place where I can see & touch things and talk to people who are more knowledgeable than I am. Huge store with great selection & friendly employees. I'd highly recommend you come here if you want to buy cheap & well-made knives. You don't need to be buying $200 knives from fancy brands, especially if you're willing to do your own honing & sharpening. The only thing we don't buy here are cutting boards. If you're looking for sexy end grain cutting boards/butcher blocks, I haven't seen them here. But otherwise we buy most of our kitchen stuff here. You'll feel better shopping here instead of Amazon.

Our new gas range began leaking gas, and the gas company determined there was internal, control damages and red tagged the range. Dave, the General Manager, was stellar in his handling of the situation and our needs. He replaced the unit quickly so we could get back to business.

This is the second business I have had that has bought equipment from Standard, Albuquerque and now Denver. We are supremely satisfied with their service and staff. We recommend them, and will continue to give them our loyalty in business. It is so valuable to work with excellent people. Thank you Standard, Dave, and all your staff.

Our business is just starting out and we had an unfortunate internal gas leak in a gas range purchased from Standard. The gas company red tagged our range and we were shut down at the worst possible time for a new business.

However, Dave, the General Manager, made it possible to replace the unit with a new one in time so we did not have to miss an entire day of business. These are the kind of people you want to do business with; people who care about their customers and the business they do.

This is the second business and city we have trusted Standard for purchasing all our supplies from. They listen and are very helpful from start to finish. They have our complete loyalty and we would recommend them to anyone, from the casual home cook to the seasoned professional.

The prices and selection make it highly unlikely i will shop online first again in the future, as i found several items i'd been casually seeking for much less than Am__z__ would have charged. Plus my checkout staff was friendly.

If you are setting up an apartment, go here! Lots of choices for home cooks and reasonable prices. We got a wood juice reamer for $4.08 (Amazon OXO $8), Victorinox 4” paring knife, yellow handle on sale for $4.34 ($8 at Victorinox), wood handle griddle spatula 3”x4” for $3, and metal tongs for $3 ($6 at HomeGoods). The place is huge with dishes, pans, glassware, etc. so make sure you make a list and give yourself enough time. As with most restaurant supply stores, some things are very cheap and some things are way expensive (bc it’s commercial quality and meant for heavy use) for home cooks.

This store is great to get the "hard to find" items as well as a place to look around for what you might need or have to have. The employees are friendly and helpful.

Edit: I gave up on this store because of their irrational policies. All the mismanagement in this store was only made tolerable because of the kind employees anyways. The key to an efficient restaurant supply store is inventory management and organization, which once you visit any other store in the Denver area you notice the difference. The managers are hell bent on nickle and diming customers, losing the point of business and our business altogether.

Old: The staff is always kind and helpful, which makes up for the relatively dated check out system they have - this is a go to store for a majority of our restaurant supplies!
