The Shrine of the Stations of the Cross is a shrine that specializes in providing a place for reflection and prayer. The site is home to a series of sculptures that depict the stations of the cross, a traditional Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus' journey to his crucifixion. The sculptures are beautifully crafted and provide a powerful visual representation of the events leading up to Jesus' death.

One of the standout features of the Shrine of the Stations of the Cross is its location. The shrine is situated on a mesa, offering stunning views of the surrounding area. Visitors can take a short walk uphill, about 175 feet, to reach the top of the mesa and take in the breathtaking vistas. Along the way, they will encounter the sculptures that make up the stations of the cross.

At the top of the mesa, visitors will find a chapel that dominates the landscape. The chapel is a peaceful and serene place for reflection and prayer. Additionally, there is a grotto that serves as an added bonus for those who make the journey to the top of the mesa.

For those who prefer not to hike, there is a second higher trail that can be driven, and public restrooms are located just off the parking lot.

Visiting the Shrine of the Stations of the Cross is a free and unique experience. There are no lines, and visitors are free to wander and appreciate the site at their own pace.

Easy hike up to the church but the stars of the show are the fabulous 15 stages of the cross Passion) bronze statues. All so expressive and stunning. The views from the top are stunning. Shame there’s no information about the church itself and its origins

This place is great for a little pilgrimage. Moving sculptures and scripture explaining each scene of Jesus's passion. Must start at the bottom accessible from the highway to begin at the 1st Station. You can drive up a dirt road to the chapel where the 15th Station is (Resurrection added) but if you want to do the Stations in order you will have to walk down. The path is gravel, very easy trail and the whole journey is probably less than a half mile.

I wish I'd had more time to walk all the stations. The crucifixion/resurrection sculptures were beautiful and the chapel had an old-west mission, reverential vibe to it. Great views from the chapel and trail. Will return to catch the whole station trail.

This place is beautiful. Not a terribly difficult walk, but bring water! Definitely bring a camera. Plan on taking some time to enjoy not only the bronze sculptures, the station plaques, the path, but turn around every now and then and take in the breathtaking scenery of the valley. The church at the top is a sanctuary to cool down before your descent. Not to be missed. This is a treasure.
