Shagbark is the everything-you-need store. From cleaning to plumbing to animal care to gifts to paint to carpentry, you can find it all here. And if you cannot find it, Heather and the team will get it for you! Shagbark has provided the lumber for our barns, we have fed & housed our animals with their supplies, and many of our gifts to friends and employees have come from Shagbark!

Beyond this, Shagbark has been and will continue to be, a foundation for the East Haddam Community. They open their property to every club and organization, they continually donate to fundraisers and youth programs, they employ our students, speak at our schools, and they create events that are fun and community-centered. East Haddam is better because of Shagbark.

Thank you Shargbark for allowing myself not venture outside our little bubble paradise of a town as I dare to tread where others go…. Big Box.. Shagbark has it all. The customer service in this store is outstanding! I don’t know the name of the gal I’ve encountered, but she is extremely helpful! I stopped on my way home from work one day and arrived 10 minutes after they closed. She hadn’t left yet, asked what I wanted, found it for me. I’ve never had that exceptional service anywhere else. Anything I need, I’ll look there first!

First time shopper. I was very impressed with their level of organization. I called before stopping in. They had exactly the random lumber I was looking for to repair some windows on a 1950s house. Every. Last. Piece.

I ended up buying more than l intended, but their prices were about 60% of what a box store would charge - with no headache or "Creative Craftsmanship" involved.

Very happy I decided to make a stop while I was in the area. I'll save more time in the future driving an extra 20 minutes each direction. Seriously well worth the trip, I will continue to support this business whenever possible.

People there are amazingly knowledgable and helpful. I went to buy new plug and wiring for an old lamp and the guy did all the wiring for me- at no charge! And pet department has everything you can imagine. Great place to bring the kids

My local hardware and pretty much "everything else I might need" store! Home town shopping with home town ownership and associates. Extremely pleasant and helpful. Today I went in for Preen - a weed prevention granular treatment from Miracle Grow that actually works! I went to the garden supply section of the store...could not find it. I asked the associate at the checkout area if they carried this product. She smiled and pointed at the top shelf near the store entrance. "Who Knew"? She certainly knew the whereabouts of stocked products. We shared a laugh about this odd location. I left a happy customer. Thank you Shagbark!
