Went to spend the Christmas holidays with my daughter and her family. Absolutely loved the mountain views, the museum, the roadside waterfall, the overlook and the history of the entire area. Overall, there's not a lot to do and you must travel several miles for major shopping and dining. However, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Great secluded town in the heart of Appalachia. Weird space-age history and mammoth bones. If you want quiet, we got it.

It's our new home! Quaint, charming salt producing town with little revitalisation but is home to the Wooly Mammoth. How cool is that?
