SH Dauntless Shipyard is, without doubt, the best marina on the Connecticut shoreline. We slipped & stored two boats there, year-round, from 2013-2022. Henry and his team did a wonderful job restoring and upgrading our "older" 31' Downeast boat. Attention to detail and quality workmanship is their "standard operating procedure". We sold our boat (at a premium) several months ago, but, the next one (there's always a "next one", right?) will go straight to Dauntless for year-round care...

Nice little seafood place...loved watching the sunset with dinner. When we got seated. Please give up on seating outside at "dockside". There's only like 14 tables outside in essex and the staff don't hurry the customers along sooo waiting for a table could be 2mins or like 2hrs. And no reservations for the outside either!! I was disappointed since the prices ranged from $15-up. Probably will go back, at some point but not a huge fan. Sorry.

Very nice marina. Very pretty. A little hard to access tucked in behind main street. Watch out for the huge speed ditches.
