New owner is amazing and did a fantastic job. I have taken them 3 different animals. Night and day from what the previous owner was. I highly recommend give them a shot if you had a bad experience in the past. You will be pleasantly surprised.

My husband and I recently started using J&S for meat processing and have been very happy with everything we have gotten back from them. Highly recommend!

Something drastic has changed over there. We got our cow meat back, and started using it. The stew meat was all fat & bone, could barely use any of it. It took 3 packages & a bunch of cutting to get 1 meal. I did not ask of organs but I got them. The cuts were too thin, I asked for 1/2" and got 1/4" steaks. Don't know what has changed but I wont go back until it changes back. Very disappointed.

This place has had our doe to process for almost 2 months. A small doe just for sausage only. Nobody is answering the phone. Tells you one week it'll be ready and you'll get a call the next week. Seriously 2 months and no calls, no meat. Nothing! Please find someone more trustworthy for your game processing needs. This is not it!

We took a full size steer and lost over 50% from hanging to packaging, basically they took some of our meat. We raise cattle and they acted like we had no idea what we're doing. We're pretty sure some of the cuts didn't come from our cow, most of the steaks were undersized for what we're used to. There's several better options around, we'll never be back to this place. Just read the other reviews, they're right. Unless you know the people that work there, you're going to get ripped off.

We had a couple of hogs processed here on recommendation of some friends and the Henderson County agent.
They charged more than Double what every other processor around quoted for the same services, including one we have used for another pig a couple of months before.
The return we got seemed very low to me based on the weight of the hogs going in, but they wouldn't give me the cut sheet with the weights on it. I didn't have a scale to weigh the boxes, but I suspect some of the meat I paid dearly for went into their front counter sales cooler.
The sausage we got was bland, more like ground pork than sausage, and the cuts of chops, etc, are poor.
I have spoken with others who had similar issues with beef processing, including being shorted product and given ridiculous excuses of why their return was so low.
Stay away from this place!

We recently had beef processed by J&S. The whole transaction went very smoothly and the folks were very friendly. The meat we received was of excellent quality and cut, well-packaged, and the quantity was the amount we expected. We'll be back, for sure. Thanks!

On November 11, 2021 brought in a buck. 3 weeks later got texted pictures of my buck with mold built up all over it, the management and staff was told to run it anyway by the owner. December 16 (over a month later) was contacted, and told my meat was ready. When I asked whether it was my meat which I knew was bad, or if they just give me someone else's meat and ripped off the next guy, I got nothing but dancing around. No one offered to give my money back, or try to make things right. After David quit running it and they opened back up several years later, it's been an all in high stakes bet dealing with these people, I've had 3 capes completely ruined, and unusable, I've been shorted meat, for a long time I've kept quiet. But be advised, Tim Sherber is only interested in your money and that's it. His actions have solidly proven he doesn't care about the quality of his products, or the health and safety of his customers or their families. They are crooks, sure you might read an occasional good review from one of their friends, but 6 years of doing business with them and consistently getting ripped off is the way I've been done. There are too many reputable processors locally, that will own up and fix their mistakes with better packaging and a whole lot faster turn around to settle for their high priced, sub par products.
