I taught high school for 32 years, so I understand the gamut of responses and conversations you can have with various people. Rarely have I ever dealt with an individual as rude and curt as the gentleman who operates Richardson Ornamental Iron company. Im sorry for his negative responses and behavior...how he has remained in business for so long is surprising to me. I am truly sorry to post a negative review, but I feel certain that I am not the only customer who has felt this way after dealing with thus man.

I had a cast iron sewing machine leg that got damaged in transport. I called a few places and they did not want to touch it. I called Richardson Ornamental and they were friendly and up front about the difficulty and potential complications of the repair. They took it on and did an excellent job, very affordable and super efficient. I highly recommend Richardson Ornamental Iron.

Stopped by his shop because we were under tight timeline to put a safety railing on a colonial style house as part of a refinance. He and his team did a great job in less than a week. We have a beautiful new wrought iron hand rail. I would use Gene and his shop again without hesitation.

Had an unscheduled repair project for a mount on my wife's power chair and was referred by a friend. The problem stemmed from poor design and created an unsafe chair. Since I needed it fixed asap we discussed the options and with creative skill the repair was made to fit avoiding the chance of repeat damage in under 2hrs. I’m sure this company is good at what it does. I’m looking at cost estimating a project, with drawings in hand. After finding them online, I called their number.The gentleman that answered the phone, maybe the owner, did not answer the phone with his name or company name. The conversation went downhill from there. He acted like he was doing me a favor discuss a project for which I was soliciting a quote. I asked simple professional questions in attempt to schedule a site visit. He answered one of the questions with “you got me.” After several attempts to establish a professional dialogue, I finally wished him a good day and ended the call.

Not that it matters, but I’m a licensed professional working a real job.I would’ve expected the conversation to at least have been professional.
