Their bacon is also excellent. Always worth the drive

It's hit or miss.

Some of the meat cuts are great and some of them are awful. I bought chicken livers and they were mealy and falling apart.
I bought dog food on two separate occasions. The first batch was good but the second batch has a totally different texture and has caused a systemic allergic reaction in my dog that I have now been to the veterinarian twice for. He ate around 3 lb out of the 25 in the box and it took about a week for things to clear up. That means I just wasted around $100 on something I'm going to have to throw away. I don't like to make a habit of going around throwing away that much money.
The eggs were not as fresh as you would expect given the name of the store.
If you put a raw egg (still in the shell) in water you can tell how old it is.
These were so old that they bobbed up and down and when I cracked it the white had lost all consistency and it came out completely liquid.
The people are friendly enough but if you're on a budget you're better off going elsewhere.
Husband and I had planned on getting a cow share when he returns home from deployment but I'm going to have to keep looking for somewhere with better quality consistency.

Amazing selection and product! Love coming by here for meat or the sour dough selection! It's pretty awesome how they have hot soup! It's really cool how they have el chapin next door as well!

I have been shopping at Ranch Foods Direct for well over 10 years. When I go to a regular grocery store for their meat, even if it's higher end, Callicrate beef and pork is always so much better. I also really like the soups they serve for the Soup of the Day. It's like a light lunch break during your shopping trip. The garden in the back is also beautiful.

Terrible customer service. Used to come here quite often but will take my business elsewhere from now on. Called inquiring about availability for fresh cuts and was hung up on mid question, called back and was sent straight to hold for 3 minutes before calling back a third time, getting a different person who sounded like I was inconveniencing her for calling a place of business during business hours. Y’all should hire some friendlier employees

They advertise they are a specialty meats place. HA! I wish I read the reviews prior to the drive. They're charging for 30+ day dry age price, when I asked about the aging it 14 days. That's Safeway steak at twice the price. I also looked at their "wagyu" which they couldn't tell me the rating. They had minimal marbling at A4 wagyu prices. It's not worth the $$ for quality.
