Prichard Water Works is infamous for its bad behavior, so I was very pleased to be done with the service once and for all. Before moving out of the state, I dutifully visited the office to end my service (since it's 1954, I guess, and the internet does not exist). I was told by the employee servicing the account that the balance had been paid in full and that I was free and clear.

Silly me.

A month later, I received a bill in the mail three times higher than my average monthly bill. Excuse me? There must be some mistake, right?

When I called in to dispute the charges, an employee literally hung up on me. A second (I called back, obviously, and was forced to wait 12 minutes for an agent to "become available") told me I could not dispute charges and sent me to her supervisor's voicemail when I demanded to speak to someone with more authority. I don't expect to receive a call back.
I'm torn between refusing to pay an asinine and unearned bill out of principle and just paying it to be done with the whole lot of liars and thieves. It's a shame that they are able to rob me one last time.

I hope the whole business burns to the ground. They should be ashamed of themselves.

If your in this district get a water well if possible because this company will over charge for water and embezzle and then jack prices up more to cover the embezzlement. A real class act...

Over charging accounts. I moved from my apartment and they still billed my apartment for months and when I called and told them the manager said she can’t do anything about it.
