I don't think I would ever use another company. I found I had no heat after arriving home after work today, a 23 degree day with howling winds and no sign of a let up for two more days! I called Petro and was told someone would come between 5 and 8pm.
At 515 Glen showed up and appeared confident, competent and experienced. To my great relief he was able to diagnose the problem and correct it and then explain how to let the house reheat without reducing its ability to reheat by running the hot water etc. I'd like Glen to be the pro who comes here to deal with my heating problems every time I have them...which of course I hope continues to be rare!

Contacted Petro that home had no heat at 6pm. Received message that tech was on his way at 8:30 and would arrive in an hour. At 10pm called and was told tech got rerouted but would arrive between 10:30 - 11pm. By 11:30 no tech. Called and was told tech would arrive at 2am. I cancelled service call because I had no faith that tech would arrive at 2am. Called this morning to speak to a supervisor and was told someone would call within 24-48 hours.
I had a similar service issue a few months ago trying to get a propane delivery.
I’m a 30 year customer and petro was always reliable. Not anymore.
I’m looking now for a more reliable company.

Beware of this company. Recently purchased a house, they inspected the heating system and estimated the oil fill. I moved forward with signing up with them and upon the FIRST oil fill tank leaked. They sent me to 3rd party for a temp tank and have been a nightmare ever since. Tried to tell me that 250gallons a month in 40-50 degree weather was normal, and have charged me every possible fee imaginable, over charged for oil, and customer support tried telling me the technicians were wrong (they agreed with all my points). I haven't had a fill in December and still have half a tank left after canceling. The worst experience with a service company I've ever had. Use cash heating oil options they are cheaper and more reliable.

Petro may not be the cheapest place to buy oil but they sell the best quality which pays off in longer functioning boiler and tank. Excellent customer service with only occasional missteps. They are only too glad to acknowledge and correct. We have been together a very long time.

Poor communication. Appointment was made for service recently, for the time period 8 thru 12.... I had to call at 2pm to ask for an update was then told technician was running late. No ETA wa given.

They have always been great anytime I needed the help the techs try to go above what was expected. When my boiler needed the part that wasn't covered they doubled checked with an additional service call to make sure nothing else could cause the issue before ordering the part. The only part they aren't great about is paying attention to the note on my account the boiler is in the crawl space which requires two techs, I remind them every time and when a tech arrives they need to wait for a second. Aside from that really happy with their service.

The petro team is top notch. On one of the last few cold rainy days of early spring, our boiler + oil powered heating gave out. Petro answered our call and a technician, Geoff, was over within a few hours. Despite being a Sunday afternoon, Geoff had a great attitude, explained possible causes and walked me through the work he was doing - cleaning the oil line and replacing a part. As luck would have it, the neighborhood lost power which halted Geoff’s work. We understood we may need to wait until Monday to get everything back online but Geoff offered to come back later that night, which turned out to be around 8:30pm Sunday night.

Geoff (tech #285) really went above and beyond for us. We’re happy petro customers.
