Charleston Birthday Cake Cookies: Pepperidge Farm was founded by Margaret Rudkin and it's quite an astonishing story. I can't do it justice here as it would take too long, but here's the succinct version. In 1929 Margaret and her husband moved into Pepperidge Farm located in Fairfield, CT. The farm was named after an ancient Pepperidge tree that grew there. Margaret was not a baker by trade but picked it up as her son had severe allergies and asthma, prohibiting him from eating most commercial processed foods. Through trial and error, Margaret concocted a delicious all-natural sone ground whole wheat bread that not only her son, but others found to be delicious, and Pepperidge Farm was born. I'm a sucker for birthday cake flavored treats, which brings us to the Charleston Birthday Cake cookies. An enduring contribution from Margaret is that she named products after cities she visited, beginning on a trip to Europe. The Birthday Cake cookies are part of the "American" line. Colorful sprinkles and white chocolate chips are baked into each soft and chewy cookie. I was impressed with both the texture and flavor of these delectable cookies. For a birthday cake imitation flavor, this is one of the better ones that I've encountered as it emulates a vanilla/yellow cake nicely. I wouldn't go as far as to say they're a Crumbl killer, but they're close if I add my own frosting to them. Doughboy approved

My family and I have been loyal customers for 60 + years. And my father had the pleasure of knowing Margaret Rudkin. For the past several MONTHS we have found the Pepperidge Farm shelf out of stock on Cinnamon Raisin Swirl and Rye Bread. I have complained to the market manager and even some mid level individual at Pepperidge about this ongoing issue. NOTHING HAS CHANGED OVER THE LAST 4 MONTHS.

I have loved this brand since I was a child, and I am thrilled by how amazing the flavors still taste, even to my more sophisticated adult palate. The Goldfish Crackers are of course superb, and the Chessmen Cookies are better than any bakery shortbread that I have ever had (and I've tried A LOT of shortbread, both in the EU and the Americas!). I also love the specials - this year, my daughter and I were thrilled to snag two bags of Old Bay Goldfish Crackers (which: YUM.). Thank you, Pepperidge Farm!! 😀

This impenetrable barrier stands as a testament to the fortitude of your packaging, yet it renders the delectable delights within a mere tantalizing mirage.

Stay away from the Milano! Must be some kind of sick joke. The cookies shrank are about the size of my thumb and the bag cost $5.09. Maybe they think we're dumb. Like other companies using this stupid excuse "we find that our customers are looking for smaller portions" sheesh, do better PF.
