I had received a wheel alignment right before Christmas preparing for a long road trip. I had just replaced the front WHEELS AND RIMS hours before the alignment. About 3 months later, my tire exploded. i did some internet and word of mouth research. Almost everyone i asked including the Pep Boys works told me “uneven ware.’ both front wheels on the inside are bare after 3 months later? At this caliber? not a chance!

i had asked for what we could do since my tire popping was supposed to be impossible after a new set, alignment, and inspection. Was told to get new tires on and then they could help me, but they won’t help me with what i had lost due to errors on their part.

GO TO TOWN FAIR TIRE IF YOU NEED TIRES OR ALIGNMENT!!!!

They are cheaper, warmer inside, and better customer service when it comes to customer understanding.

Larry was beyond amazing . I brought my car in first thing this AM to see what was going on with it. Larry from the beginning of day until the end of his shift had the best attitude and sense of humor. He got everything all straightened out with my warranty and now I feel soo much better driving my car. Larry amplifies what great customer service means! Thank you Larry for making this a pleasant experience!!

I have 3 stars for the great price and the customer service! I purchased a tire and asked the technician to check my other tire I just bought previously from Pep Boys because my car was shaking when I drive on the highway. Well they checked the balance of both tires and told me the rim was bent. I took away 2 stars because, one is the wait time. Don’t do online appointments because it doesn’t matter at all. I took another star away because, yes my rim has a slight bend in it but my back tire was completely bald with the metal wires coming through!! The technician had my car on a lift for 35 minutes and he didn’t see the back tire. 2 things, one is a safety hazard and the other is he missed another sale. They are upgrading and it looks like it’s gonna be a nice place to go for tires only. Their prices are better than Town Fair Tire. The Hamden store has very good customer service and I thank Larry for that but the technician needs a little bit more training on all aspects of the tire industry.

I’m only giving it 4 stars because the place was crowded. Other than that, the 2 reps that took care of me were nice and courteous and respectful of my time. Service that I needed was performed in a timely manner considering the amount of customers that were there. I always choose Pep Boys for any car service needs.

I had a terrible experience at the Pep Boys Hamden location. I came in for tire balancing, and after being told to wait, I ended up sitting there for over 5 hours. When the advisor finally came to me, he casually told me that my car was fine, without actually doing anything. When I asked him why, he simply said, "I can't do it, I'm busy." To make matters worse, the lady at the counter was incredibly unhelpful and rude. The next day, I went to the Orange store, and they handled it with no problem at all. I will definitely not be returning to Pep Boys Hamden.

I was greeted by a very pleasant woman who took my paperwork for my car emissions. She explained the process to me and I sat down. I was there literally for ten minutes and my car was ready. Another very pleasant young man gave me my paperwork and keys. My whole experience was great. The staff is friendly and cordial. I will definitely bring my car back.

Had a battery changed in my car. The cost was a bit over what I was expecting. I did look online and the cost was more. A simple courtesy from the tech or the advisor would have been to set the clock etc and put car back to the way it was at drop off. This shows me the tech and especially the advisor did not check the work done

The inspection was blank even though I did have a check engine light on. Why did you not check and recommend additional services?

I have been going to PepBoys for about over 14 years and the only reason I keep returning to the Hamden location is because of Larry. He listens, treats everyone with respect and very welcoming. I believe because of him this location is a success. I used to live on the shoreline moved to the Avon area and I still bring all of our vehicles to the Hamden location. Thank you again Larry for always taking care of my family vehicles.
