Good professional service. Friemdly office staff amd clear communication. Although they are co-branded with OrthoVirginia, they are not integrated in any way. I had to repeat all my insurance information and medical history, schedule separately, etc. It's fine, but no advantage over any other MRI provider.

My rating is for the front desk staff, I were before about two weeks ago for the first time, all went well. Mu second time today 4/1, when i arrived I was asked for the doctors order, i told them that there was a copy already sent from my doctor’s office, that i last time i was there I didn’t have to show it because it was in their system already, but i was told I needed, i went and got it got for them. Later someone else arrived and encountered the same issue as me, the front desk checked the patient without no problem. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Waited over an hour for an MRI, then waited for another hour to get the CD burned (which I asked if I needed to wait for and was told yes while my Dr was an Ortho VA doctor and absolutely did not use the CD).

However my biggest issue is with their billing department. I was given an estimate of around $250 and they billed me 1k. I was just told that there is nothing they can do because an estimate is just that, an estimate. I never had such a huge discrepancy with estimates before. It feels absolutely insane to me that they think this is okay. You get an estimate so you can prepare yourself and know more or less how much you will pay. But trying to bill me 4 times the cost they estimated is just ridiculous. DO NOT COME HERE!! Virginia Hospital is a way better facility, much nicer, sees you on time, and charges you the amount they estimated they would.

Please don't bother yourself giving me your standard response to contact you. I spoke to 3 different people at your billing department and got the exact same answer "there is nothing we can do".

AVOID. The experience during the imaging was fine but the billing experience at Tysons MRI was horrible. I worked with OrthoVirginia Tysons MRI and my insurance to get an estimate prior to scheduling and was quoted an "out of pocket price" and an "estimated price after insurance". When the bill came after insurance processing the bill was larger than the out of pocket price! The practice billed the insurance company 3x the amount they quoted me for the out of pocket price. Even with adjustments from my insurance company the overall bill through insurance was higher than the quoted out of pocket price. I should have just paid cash. Went back and forth with the provider for months to resolve the issue. They gave me the run around and were generally unhelpful with resolving the billing issue. I'll end up paying the bill to avoid it going to collection, but overall the experience was terrible. I will certainly go somewhere else next time. If OrthoVirginiaTysons Corner MRI wants to improve they should provide clear prices up front and submitting through insurance shouldn't increase the cost of the procedure.

Easy to get to. The place needs a lighted sign. The hours are good and easy to get an appointment. The receptionist is friendly, calm and helpful.

Really bad customer service by the technician. I can’t speak for his technical skills but he had really bad attitude. I simply asked if I can go inside the MRI room with my child and he responded with attitude- why do you want to go in. All he had to say was - no, we don’t allow parents - in a civil manner.

I responded and said I’ve been to other MRI centers and they let me in so I was just asking. He had major attitude the whole time.

I won’t be going back here again. I’ve never had issues with technicians until at this location. Also, I didn’t find this place welcoming as the other MRI locations in the area.

If you can go elsewhere, I would recommend you do.

I did give it 2 stars because the front office seemed efficient.

I wasn’t too impressed by the staff at the front desk. I understand that they have a lot of patients and families to deal with, but they seemed to have been kind of dismissal. I was beginning to doubt my decision to take my 76 year old mother to the practice. But once we were called inside, everyone was super helpful and professional. The gentleman (nurse) who brought us in to take her vitals and info, was kind, helpful and very professional. I was very impressed by Dr. Avery, who came in and immediately decided what he needed to do to help my Mother’s pain. He administered a shot and then directed her to get an x-ray. The technician there was very efficient and helpful as well. Dr. Avery, once again stepped right in and shared with us that he was right about what he suspected with my Mom’s shoulder. He didn’t make us wait till after the report and films were done. The whole process was fast and convenient. I would recommend Dr. Gordon Avery to anyone who needs an Orthopedic. Thank you!

My six month, followup, total hip replacement surgery appointment was a
success.
Staff are pleasant, wait was barely 10 minutes, and meeting with Dr. McConnell was enjoyable and efficient. He is highly skilled and compassionate. I was very fortunate to have had him as my surgeon.
