It is so cool to see such a diverse grouping of films in one quaint place, bringing a grab-bag of culture to an almost entirely senior, white crowd. I wanted to see almost every title on the list but could only make it to six, each of which I loved. The theatres were charming and clean, the attendees were convivial and kind and it was so nice sharing notes with my fellow watchers.

The introductions before each screening however, were frankly painful. The hosts seems unrehearsed and unprepared, getting titles/names wrong and offering little to no insight into the film we were about to watch. Carl in particular seemed terrified. In the one interaction outside of the theatre he was catty, snarky and dismissive of my partner and I, all while refusing to look up from his laptop. Maybe I'm wrong but one would think you would want to welcome younger, off-isle attendees to vitalize this event.
