Looking for a fabulous place to rent? Look no further! Peaceful location away from the traffic, but close to two wonderful restaurants and sandwich shop. Plenty of green space to walk your fur baby. Or go for your morning run. Front row seat for July 4th and Christmas festivities! Beautiful pool and fitness area. Maintenance is great and always on top of it. As a single woman I always felt safe there.

Stayed at the apartment complex many different times. This last year has been the worst. In this building they send you your electric bill in house not though the electric company. Now they are giving out these high bills when your not even running the a/c. Sit on 77 degrees and still getting 100 electric bill. Been to the office on numerous occasions about the but nothing has happened. Leaving because of this. Never had a late payment or anything. This is how They treat people. Do not recommend merchant square apartments

We initially looked at these apartments due to the location and wanting to stay in the same general area we were already at. Four years later we're still here and have had a great experience overall. Mary and the rest of the staff have always been very pleasant and easy to work with. The few times we've needed maintenance, they've been timely and get the job done quick.

I like the location also due to the convenience of it. A few restaurants and other small businesses within walking distance. For most other needs, you're still close enough to town to access most things pretty quickly, but far enough out that you're not slammed with traffic and noise. The location is also convenient for any events Spotsylvania county puts on, such as the fireworks, Christmas parade, etc., since they're all generally done in this area.

It's an easy recommendation for anyone who is looking in the area. More so if they don't want to be in the middle of the city but also don't want to be too far out. It's almost the perfect balance.

I recently moved out due to getting a new job out of state, but if I was not moving out of state, I would have most definitely renewed my lease with Merchants Square Residences! I have nothing but great things to say. The management, maintenance, groundskeeping, housekeeping, etc. are all awesome! They are very responsive to emails, phone calls/text messages, maintenance requests, etc. They work super hard to please all the residents and keep things running smoothly!

As for the apartments, they are very nice, spacious, and have a decent amount of storage space. If you choose an apartment with a balcony, you'll get a bit of extra outside space to use. I personally leased an internal apartment (1 bed 1 bath-- open concept), which means there's an elevator you use to get your apartment and your front door isn't outside, but rather in a hallway (kind of like a hotel). I had nice modern stainless steel appliances, in-unit washer and dryer, hardwood floors throughout the apartment, carpet in the bedroom, and tile in the bathroom.

The area also is nice! There's a few restaurants, Anytime Fitness gym, a cleaners, a flower shop, and other things. The complex is located at the courthouse, so lots of events are held there which give you a front row seat to the action. Also, food trucks occasionally stop at the complex which is awesome!

Overall, I love Merchants Square Residences, and I believe it's a great place to live!

I have lived here for three years and love it! Very peaceful and relaxing. I have had no problems, never needed to call maintenance. Everyone in the leasing office is very nice. The gym is amazing! I would be renewing my lease if I didn't need to move due to getting a job further away. I am sad to leave because I do really love my apartment and the neighborhood. It has been hard to find a replacement for this place. I highly recommend Merchant Square Apartments. This place is also pet friendly and my dog loves it here. There are a lot of places you can walk your dog. They also have events that are held every year, such as fireworks for 4th of a July, that can be seen from your apartment.

Been here for one month now and I love love my apartment. The open concept, the stainless steel appliances and the patio are all awesome amenities. I had a couple of hiccups when I first moved in but maintenance responded to them quickly. The rent office staff, Ms.Sharon and Ms.Mary are both pleasant and respectful. Even during this pandemic they made my moving transition smooth and stress free. Walking distance to a few shops. Fitness center on site. Post office within walking distance. Shopping and more restaurants are about 15 mins away. I mean talk about convenience. Growing neighborhood so even more to come. Did I mention that I love my apartment? Lol.
