Very cool self guided tour. $12 per person. They have a veteran and senior discount. The business hours posted on Google are incorrect - this business closes at 4PM; not 4:30PM. The owners were kind enough to let us in with 15 mins left until 4PM, but there's a sign on their road that indicates the closing time is 4PM.

Inside the mill is awesome. Very educational and raw. It literally looks like they stopped operations yesterday and you're taking the tour today. Nothing was moved or organized; you see everything. The log books, paper towels, manuals, etc everything is left out for everyone to see. It's actually pretty cool, as you're walking through. There are even some buttons your kids can press as you all walk through, so they can see how some of the machinery works. The owners were really friendly, patient, and genuinely interested/passionate about this place. We'd definitely recommend this place to others.

A must see! Freddy and his son are a wealth of knowledge. We absolutely loved the self guided tour. Being able to go at your own pace was great. There are lots of great signage and even machines that you can run yourself. My whole family enjoyed it.

3 museum tour... A must see in Silverton, Co.
Buy a pass for all three places and save yourself some money.

Start at the Old Hundred Gold Mine Guided Tour, then the self guided tour at the Gold Mill and end your day at the Mining Museum.

Old Hundred: this is a guided tour where an actual miner takes you on a small train 1500 feet down into the mine to see the process of actual mining and the tools used from the 1800s to modern day.

Gold Mill Tour: is a self guided tour through an old mill where you can see all of the equipment used to grind and separate the different metals/minerals. Hands on where you get to use some of the equipment.

Museum: See displays of old jail, victorian era clothing, mining paraphernalia. 2 buildings. 3 levels each. Amazing

Well worth the price of admission. We had the whole place to ourselves. Multiple machines still work and you are allowed to turn them on and you get to go at your own pace.

Always a fun place to take pictures. People who like machinery, mining, or just industrial looking stuff will live this. You can still turn things on to see them operate. Gift shop has local ore specimens and steel balls from the gold mill. Great historical information. The guy that works there clearly loves his job and loves telling stories.

It was fun to explore on a self-guided tour. Three of the machines still had power hooked up to them. You could start them up by pushing and holding a nearby button.

Excellent mostly self-guided tour that really gives you an appreciation for the huge equipment in such a mill. Also enjoyed talking with the mill's caretaker.
