We came as the church was being decorated for advent. The church itself feels much like you are home in the faith, even as we had never been there. pls visit, then have a nice hike around the property. Do not forget the meeting hall and meditation area which is behind the church.

This is an evil cult that will send people to hell! I talked to a lady and a young man who were living in fear of going to hell because of this "church" telling them they were going to hell and couldn't change that, thank God one of them believed only in Jesus Christ.
Don't go here if you actually care about what the Bible says. Faith in Jesus is the only way to heaven.

Had a wonderful time visiting this Catholic Mission On the Havajo Nation Reservation. Church and ancillary building including a chapel and school and Rectory were all made from hand by Native Navajos who had the rock hauled to the building site from a long distance. Staff were wonderfully accommodating and friendly, giving us an impromptu tour! Have been invited to return to tour the school once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

Went there this summer during the Navajo Nation Fair.
I took lots of photos i will post here.
The Franciscans founded the mission in 1898 at the invitation of Reverend Mother (now saint, canonized in 2000) Katharine Mary Drexel, who donated the site and had plans to establish a convent and a school for Indian children there.
The original adobe mission and its historic interior have been preserved as a museum, interpreting missionary life and reservation life at the turn of the century.
The museum is an introduction to early missionary life Franciscan Friars bringing Roman Catholic teachings to the Navajo people beginning in the 1890s.

There is a nice hiking trail that starts off across from the church. Also a small "museum" or oldest building that you can check out for free that is across the road too.
