I can not say enough about my transaction with Kimber. I owned and daily carried this gun for 8 years. I sent it back for the services that they offer and I was beyond amazed at the job they did. My gun was returned to me on almost like new condition. I love this gun and the service I was provided will only add to my loyalty to Kimber. I highly recommend these guys!!!!!!!!!

Synopsis:
I gave the rating I did, because I like the product, and though my customer service experience wasn’t the best, I think Kimber is at least trying.
I recently bought a Kimber Micro 9 Rapide from a big online retailer (Eurooptic). The gun was advertised as factory new, and came at a very reasonable price.
When my firearm came, I disassembled it in order to lube it, before taking it out to the range, and that’s when I noticed some deep scratches on the frame.
The scratches themselves were not due to metal on metal ware, because nothing was contacting that part of the frame. Also, it didn’t hinder the functionality of the firearm, but the gun did cost a pretty penny. For such a price point I, did not expect to see deep gouges on my pistol.
I contacted the online retailer customer service, who in turn suggested I reach out to the manufacturer of the firearm (Kimber).
So here I was playing phone/email tag with Kimber when I just wanna enjoy my new firearm.
So I reached out to Kimber customer service, and explained the situation, and sent pictures of the scratches. They told me the gun would have to come in for evaluation. About a week and a half later I got issued an RMA number and received a FedEx label to ship the gun back.
I promptly sent my firearm back to Kimber. They received the package the next day. Exactly 2 weeks later Kimber sent me an email notifying that they are shipping my gun back to me.
Unfortunately, there was some issue with the label and so the unit number got left off. FedEx tried to deliver the package 3 different times, but could not since the address was incomplete.
I called FedEx after the first failed delivery attempt, and they explained the issue. They also told me that only the shipper can change or update the shipping address.
I immediately called Kimber. They took note of the issue, and said they would reach out to FedEx. The next day, the same thing happened. (Failed delivery, due to missing unit number). I called Kimber again. They once again, told me they would get in touch with FedEx to remedy the situation. The third day, the address was still not updated on FedEx’s end.
Ultimately, I just called FedEx, and added the Kimber customer service rep to the call, and arranged to pick the firearm up from my local FedEx location.
Again, not sure what happened there with the address and the communication between Kimber and FedEx. That experience was less than ideal, however Kimber DID address the deep scratches on my gun frame, and put a new coating on it, from what I can tell.
I do appreciate that they resolved my original issue with the scratches, without any questions. I wish I didn’t have to worry about it in the first place, but it’s nice to know that Kimber stands by its product. The gun itself had zero issues mechanically thus far, in the ~200 rounds that I put through it.
I’ll probably be keeping this little guy, as my daily carry for years to come.

The worst customer service I have experienced. Right behind Remington who at least has the excuse that they have changed ownership. I own 3 Kimber rifles and 2 Kimber pistols and one of my rifles the textured coating of the stock is coming off and disintegrating. When I called customer service they told me they won’t warranty the stock on a gun that I paid way over $1200 for. The reason I find this very disappointing, besides the value of the gun, is the fact that I had the same thing happen to a CVA muzzleloader that cost me $320 and is at least 5 years older than the Kimber. When I contacted CVA about this issue, they immediately sent me a new stock 100% free, no questions asked. What a disappointing experience I had with Kimber. I will now be selling my Kimbers and will never buy one again.

I recently called Kimber ref a blemished slide on my new Micro 9 Bel Air. I spoke to Cust Svc Rep Susan Sapp, and boy was she just terrific to work with! She was very pleasant and professional, while at the same time, she made me feel she was actually glad I called to seek help from their Warranty Sevice Center. She processed my request based on photos she had me email her and, before I knew it, I had prepaid label to send my beloved little pistol back. I did so, and just a short time later, my pistol was returned to me with all the blemishes fixed. Not only that...the gunsmiths there also did a bunch of add'l things to my gun, like some additional polishing, adjustments, and they reamed the chamber. They also test fired my gun afterward to ensure reliable operation. I'm thrilled with Kimber and certainly with Susan's Super Customer Service! I now have 6 different Kimber Pistols and will continue to purchase these products as they not only make great stuff...they stand behind them!

I bought a new Kimber mountain ascent from a large, reputable online dealer. During sight in I noticed the stock was cracked from under the trigger guard up the side. I called kimber customer service, and they agreed kimber would fix it but said they were out of stocks. That was about 7 months ago, and I still have not yet received an RMA or shipping label. Each time I call or email I get a polite response stating "well get back to you." I hope to get this new rifle fixed so I can enjoy it one day, but I won't buy another Kimber.
Update: After waiting almost 9 months, kimber replaced the stock.

Always heard and thought kimber had great customer service . Purchased night sights and the front one lasted a less than a month . They want me to send it in and pay for parts and labor . Ridiculous. All you would have to do is send me a new sight . Ain't that Hard. Send me a sight ...

Hard earned dollars means we expect premium product. I have two decades of firearm experience and I'll be happy to be proved wrong with the issues I'm having with my 1911 that sits collecting dust until I can afford the ammo to make it to the reccomended 500 round break-in period. Everyone I know or have met have had ZERO issues with identical Kimber 1911's, but here I am again with an unreliable tool that's costing me more time and grief. I had similar problems with Benelli shotguns and they lost a loyal customer because I was so fed up with the problems I had with their shotguns. That's 8k of those hard earned dollars I practically threw away only to return to an old 1950's pump action that operates ten times better than their inertia JUNK.
Kimber customer service was borderline on the lowest low questioning every ounce of my integrity. Really, Kimber!? I just acquired a cheaper Ruger that practically operated flawlessly out of the box. I've also had zero issues with H&K and S&W. These are brands I TRUST based upon previous self defense situations that kept me ALIVE knowing my firearm would function 100 percent.
This 1911 of mine needed to be in service way before yesterday so I'm a little upset that I have to nurture this tool to maturity. It better be loyal when it reaches break-in or I promise I'll never purchase another Kimber product.
Kimber has NOT made a good impression. I'm loyal when it comes to reliability of firearms. We count on these tools of self defense to protect our lives. In today's tough economy, this break-in period is LUDICROUS. Please prove you're better than the less expensive firearms on the market. I had to practically beg to get a defunct factory mag replaced.
