***In the RESPONSE TO THE OWNER there are 2 untrue comments:
1. There was no free product offered or given. Only suggested to try aging the beef myself might help.
2. There were no repeated unsuccessful attempts to reach me. A week went by from my call to Key and only after I made this Google post, did Robert call me back. No owner has reached out to me at any time.
I left a message to please correct their reply but they did not, so I am correcting it here.***I hope Key improves; a good local meat provider would be a benefit to the area.
I was super excited to use Key Farms to replace my current meat source that is not local, and share the news once I enjoyed the product! The staff was very nice and helpful and we were off to a great start, however after cooking my first filet's I was disappointed in the meat. The texture, taste and overall experience did not meet my expectations. In fact all 4 of us ( I cooked 4 steaks) did not want to finish ours, and have not cooked any since. I contacted the company and explained the situation, hoping for another try as I want this local company to work for me and my friends! The person I spoke with thought he knew what the problem was and said he would relay the message to the owner who he hoped would call me back to work with me. He didn't call. I called again and left a message for him to please call, but he didn't. As it stand I have $250 worth of meat that I won't eat. I purchased some meat aging bags and will give that a try, otherwise I'll throw it out. I am going back to my other meat source because I never received a return call from the owner, until I find another local company.
