My 2 year old dishwasher quit heating and they diagnosed it for $99 and installed a new element.I was charged $189 more for this repair. It still didn't work. I've now spent almost $300.They said it might be the thermostat. After several weeks of waiting, they said it wasn't the thermostat and might be the control panel. This would run the cost to over $500. I refused but if their $99 diagnosis had been correct and had I known in the beginning that it was going to cost that much I wouldn't have spent the $300. I am now out $300 and have 2 year old dishwasher that doesn't work. I talked to a lady named Trudy and she reminded me that I had the choice to buy an EXTENDED WARRANTY. I chose Jeff's because they were a local business but I won't be purchasing my new diswasher from them.

Paid for a stove top, when the electrian came to install it he said you have 32 stairs,I counted them. He said he had to charge me an extra 110 dollars for the stairs. That's about 3.50 a stair to carry up a stove top. We aren't talking about a stove, just a stove top. I'm disabled and I told him I would carry it up myself. They were charging me 150.00 dollars to install it,for about 15 minutes of work. The electrian they sent said they had to charge me even though you could carry it up with one hand. He also preferred cash. I didn't pay,but I wonder how many older people he has ripped off? He probably doesn't report it on his taxes either. Most people that live in WV. have stairs,I just hope they are not scamming to many older people. I had purchased other items from them and had never been charged this BS fee,nor was it mentioned when I purchased the stove top. It may not be illegal, but it is definitely unethical and I'll tell everyone I can to avoid this company and their rip-off electrians.

I was told my glass cooktop would be ordered and ready for instillation in 2 weeks. It’s took about 7 weeks because it arrived at the store broken TWICE. When I called the office to inquire about a refund of my $75 shipping fee, I was given the run around and told that we could discuss it once the new top came in. Once it was installed, I spoke with Trudy, the office manager and she was very rude and insistent that she would not refund my shipping cost because though I paid the fee once, she had to pay it twice (due to it being delivered broken). I feel the store should always take responsibility and she just kept blaming fedex with no sympathy toward my inconvenience. However, Joe, the man who installed my cooktop was very pleasant to deal with and did a great job.

I bought a fridge and dishwasher here with the extended warranty. Both appliances have been garbage - thankful for that extended warranty…or so I thought. I thought them having an in-house repair crew would be a good thing….it is not! The lady who runs service never answers and rarely returns calls. When they do answer you wait 1-2 weeks for a tech to come and say “yep it’s broke” and then ANOTHER 4+ weeks for the parts to show up. Typically it is the wrong part or not all the parts and will require yet another visit. They eventually gave up trying to service my dishwasher and refunded me the purchase price. I fixed it myself with a $20 part from Amazon within 2 days. I had been waiting for over 6 weeks for them to fix it! It’s been the same issues with my fridge - wait weeks/months for parts/services, just for it to not be fixed. They blame the warranty company for not sending parts for why it takes so long. Currently on week 4 of waiting for parts/service for non-working water dispenser on fridge. They never fixed the broken ice maker over a period of 4 MONTHS and multiple visits so I gave up on that and got a countertop ice maker. At least fridge still cools. I don’t know what they would expect me to do if the cooling part broke!!

I won’t do business with them again. Terrible service.

I paid $100 for diagnostics on my laundry center dryer, tech shows up and didn't even bring in any tools or test meters, after telling tech my symptoms,he says, a bad dryer motor,I told tech I wanted to fix dryer, I waited 2 days and called Jeff's and ordered motor myself,When motor came in I made another appt for the install, when tech showed up for 2nd appt,he installed motor but found some kind of heat sensor was fried, and did not have 1 with him,so a 2nd tech came the next and installed sensor and reassembled dryer, dryer would start and run as long as you held start button, I never had the problem before, so 2nd tech says 1st tech would have to come again,2 days later 1st tech came back and tells me he can't figure it out,and showed me the supposed new motor he installed was broken where wires connect to motor, mean while he gets a phone call and tells me he just lost his job and the whole service kept just quit and Jeff's wanted him back at the shop asap,he reassembled my dryer a 2nd time, now dryer won't work at all,I never received a phone call or anything from Jeffs at all,I ended up spending over $1200 for an new washer and dryer if Jeff would have treated me with any kind of professionalism I
may have still done business with them,I guess I should have read the reviews before dealing with Jeff's. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH JEFF'S !!!
PS, I gave them a 1 star review because I couldn't any less -5 would have been more appropriate

I would not recommend this business I bought a part for my dryer on a Saturday then I went to return it monday as I had just decided to buy a new dryer because i needed my kids clothes dry. I opened the box at one point to see if it was the same as what I thought I needed at tje time then I went to return it today and and was told a list of reasons as to why I can't get a refund such as the box is open theirs a mark on the plug in from where someone tried to use it and when I said I still wanted a refund the store associate I dealt with told me that I was intimidating her I feel appalled by how this employee spoke to me telling me that I was intimidating her by trying to return a part I don't feel that this business is really worth anyone's time so I would like to save someone else from making my same mistake.

Pete is the man to see at Jeff's Appliances. He beat everybody's prices and was of wealth of information which helped me tremendously.
When you purchase Appliances from here, they have the people to fix them.
That's what got my business.

My 97 year old mother-in-law, who had been a loyal customer with Jeff’s Appliance for years and always pays cash for her items, will no longer do business with nor will her family. She recently purchased and set of Maytag and washer and dryer from them, in less than two months the washer broke down (automatic lock on the lid). She called for repair and they told her they would have the part ordered and be ready for the repairman when in returned from vacation. The repairman came no part, the part was not ordered, so it was another two weeks before the part would be in. The service lady never did return her call. I myself called, long distance, to check on the part. I was told it should be in the beginning of the next week and the repairman return to fix it. It finally came in and it was fixed. Within two weeks the washer broke again, which is very frustrating for my mother-in-law who is unable to do a lot of business on her own. She was so upset that she just wanted to get rid of the washing machine and get a new one without an automatic door lock. I call Jeff’s appliance and spoke with salesperson that sold her the set. I ask if they could replace her washer with one that doesn’t lock or take it back and refund her money (at least half). According to their policy for returns is only five days. Salesman he understood but would have to talk to the manager and see what or if anything could be done. He promise to get back to be asap, which was the next day, after me calling again! The manger said he would give be her a $200 credit on another washer that cost double ($1329 plus tax) or try fix the machine again. My mother-in-law was so upset , after being a loyal customer for years always paying cash, for being treated with such !!disrespect and disregard. If she would had taken them up on their offer, she would be out close to two thousand dollars. As it stands she went and purchased another washer from another competitor and still lost everything on the washer from Jeff’s. BUYER BEWARE when you deal with these people, if they can treat a loyal customer, 97 year old lady that is on fixed income, with such disregard, don’t think they would think twice doing it to anyone else!!!! I also plan to post this on Maytags web site!!!
