This review is specifically for Celsea Ward in customer service. I am an electrical contractor. We requested a week ago a shut off for the replacement of a service that we will be performing next week. I hadn't heard back from Mike Smith, the supervisor who handles this type of request. Celsea was helpful, attempted to contact Mike and she gave me a personal contact to "stay on top of it". She was so kind, courteous, and helpful! She's awesome!

Worst utility company I’ve had to deal with. I called the very minute their office opened to extend our service on our sold house only for them to already have shut it off. I don’t understand how I can get hit with all the fees when that’s the soonest I could have called. Slammed with a final bill for $443. Nice doing business with you PUD, I hope I’m never stationed there again.

Took months to resolve simple billing problem. Couldn’t figure out which address was which. Been here 6 months and power has gone out 10 times. Sometimes for many many hours. I feel like I live in a third world country.

10 hrs powers out now. It’s 30* and everything is frozen. We stay warm with electricity. My 2 year old is freezing.

If the wind blows just expect the power to go out. Absolutely pathetic! Have you ever heard of preventative maintenance?

Update: They have double charged my card $450.00. I attempted to get a refund for the double charge to no avail. I was told I would receive an email or phone call regarding this matter. Considering it's Friday, I doubt I'll see my $$ anytime soon.
....
I have auto pay and my bill is covered on the 1st of each month. That said, it went from $100 on average to $300 in Jan, $350 in Feb and a whopping $500 in the month of March! The only room I heat is my bedroom. With a space heater. That is the only variable and it's costing me 4x what I typically pay. What's more, is that they don't send an email notification stating that they are going to debit your account for the amount owed. this seems important especially when the bill is so much higher than typical. I thought I'd have at least $200 but they took it all and now I have to figure out what I'm going to do for $$ to carry us into next month.

Have had 9 outages so far this year. Mostly all due to trees not be cut away from power lines. After hour people who answer phones extremely rude. Have requested call back when power is restored through their automated phone updates Have never gotten one call back. Have requested via the smart hub app for email when power restored Have never recieved one. Something needs to be done, this isn't service.

in the last 3 months, there have been at least 9 power outages. When they're scheduled outages, PUD makes no effort to inform anyone who will be affected by it beforehand. We've lost power more times in the last three months than I can remember in the last five years. It used to be >1 time a year, but seems to get exponentially worse every passing month. They're borderline dismissive on the phone, and our rates fluctuate without any rhyme or reason. Why are we paying so much for a service that cant even be provided properly?

Power was shut off for non payment with no prior notice while I was at work. No notice in the mail for overdue payments and no notice on the door before they shut it off. Because I work normal hours like most people and get home at 5pm which is after they close they will only turn power back on for an "after hours reconnection fee" of $250. I will gladly pay my bill up to date. But sure can't afford the reconnect. So no shower, no heat,no lights for the family unless I pay them 250 to turn a key. What they're doing is extortion or at least just wrong. I can't believe there is not a system for situations like this. I'm a customer who has been paying PUD since they replaced PSE. They have gotten tens of thousands of dollars from this customer and won't be helpful or understanding when it's needed. The worst part is there is nothing I can do about it. I'm powerless

There have been power outages in Washington for many, many years because of trees. If something happens on a regular basis, you should try to rectify the problem. Paradise, Ca is placing all utilities underground. Washington state should have done this long ago. We aren't in the covered wagon days..technologies are here to solve these issues. It's government bureaucracy that does not make this a priority. They do not care that there may be elders who are freezing to death.
