-Your paper billing statement will arrive from "Utility Billing" with no mention of water on the envelope. Even having lived here for several years, this still causes confusion in my house. "Utilities" can encompass water and sewage, trash, electricity, natural gas, Internet, cable, phone service. Learn to label the bills correctly so customers are crystal clear on what they are receiving. You are Issaquah Water and you can label it as such.

-Oddly, we are billed every 2 months. From the time the paper bill hits your mailbox to the time the bill is due, you only have 2 weeks to pay. Maybe less.I have no idea why they take so long to bill yet we have so little time to issue payment. This was particularly frustrating when online bill pay was not available.

-It took Issaquah Water many years to set up online bill pay. And do you know what they forgot to include in their project plan during those long years? A way to notify customers electronically when their online bill is ready. Yes, they have our email addresses but they cannot notify us via email when our online bill is ready. I have lived all over the U.S. in cities far less funded than Issaquah and have not seen this anywhere in the last 20 years. In my own job, if I had planned and executed an online bill pay launch so poorly, I would be (rightfully) fired.

-The gravest offense is the quality of the water itself. Go to EWG's Tap Water Database and type in Issaquah to read their assessment. It's a sobering read.

Truly unbelievable that this agency still does not offer an easy way to check your bill online / make an online payment. On the other hand, their staff is very nice and polite and do try to help you when you have a billing question (at least in my experience). Come on Issaquah, get your act together, we are in 2023 now!
