The quality, customer service, and communication here is wonderful. It is a bit of a wait, but it's more than worth it for me. I know that my film is going to be safe with them, and I'm going to receive the most high-quality and beautiful digital scans back. And I know they'll respond to me if I have any questions. I expect to be using them for a long long time.

I've used them for mail-in processing a few times now and I think their prices and quality are great! I was just in the area and dropped off the film directly to them this time. Very friendly, but they have no reception area. If you visit, you walk right in to their shipping and receiving area. When I walked in they were super busy, but everyone greeted me with a smile! They helped me right away and I just had to make an online order that they printed and placed with the film I dropped off. There's no real advantage to dropping off directly other than bypassing the shipping. I do highly recommend them for your film processing and scanning!

From mailing my film rolls in, receiving my scans, and getting my negatives everything always goes so smoothly! I’ve loved sending my 120 film to this lab and will continue to use them. (I’ve probably sent 20 ish rolls so far)

I recently made the switch from digital to film when my son bought me a film camera for Christmas. We had a ton of fun shooting together right after Christmas. I did a bit of research and sent my film into Indie for development. A few days into the new year, they let me know that they had received my order. I didn’t hear anything else until January 22, when I received an email that they had a machine malfunction and my film was ruined. Thank goodness it wasn’t irreplaceable images like a wedding- although I’m still a bit bummed that I don’t have the tangible photos from my first roll of film shot with my son. Regardless, they refunded my money, and offered to send me a replacement roll of film. They also gave me a credit for the next roll that I was to have developed. I expressed apprehension about trusting them again with film, and the owner, Josh, personally called me and explained what happened and was extremely apologetic. He honestly had me convinced to give them another try.
Then….
I hadn’t received my replacement roll or heard back from Indie so I reached out on Feb 7 to see if it had been sent and got a reply on the 9th that it hadn’t but would be going out soon. I just received it yesterday, February 18…and it wasn’t the Kodak 400 I sent to them but Kodak 200. Now, in all honesty, when asked what roll they needed to send me, I specified that I had shot a roll of Kodak Gold 400. I had two unshot rolls of the Kodak Gold 200 in my bag, and just assumed that Gold was the same label on the 400 that I had sent to them. Remember, this was my first roll of film shot in decades- it might as well have been my first ever, and they knew that because I explained that to both the woman I was communicating to via email and the owner. When I reached out and let them know that I got the wrong speed of film, I got back an email that “educated” me that all Gold film was 200 and that the 400 was Kodak Ultramax. I understand that I used the wrong title, but the brand and the speed were correct. If there was some sort of a clarification needed, I don’t understand why they didn’t ask for clarification, instead of just assuming and dropping the wrong film in the mail. They offers to send me a return label to send back the 200 and then they’ll send me the 400. I’ve declined because I’m done being frustrated with them and a correct roll of film isn’t worth the continued frustration. I write all this to say, I understand, accidents happen, but I shouldn’t still be dealing with this a month later, and going through all these hassles still trying to get the right replacement roll. It shouldn’t have taken that long to send the initial replacement film, and if there is any need for clarification, I would have appreciated that on the front end- making the customer feel stupid instead of just owning a mistake sure doesn’t help either.

I don’t know where I’m going to be sending my next roll of film to, but I do know it won’t be Indie.

Just got my scans back from Indie Film Lab. It took a few weeks because it is their busy season but 100 billion percent worth the wait. Great customer service that responded within a day when I asked a question about the status of my order and I loved the scans I got back. Thanks Indie Film Lab!

Indie is dropping fast on my list of preferred film labs. It bears little resemblance to the Indie Film Lab I initially started with back in 2020. My guess is that there might be staffing issues or insufficient equipment to match the demand. While their staff remains courteous and friendly, these qualities fail to expedite the delivery of my scans. Presently, I find myself still waiting more than 17 work days for my scans, a marked departure from their previous turnaround time of 7 days. And, I might add not response to my email inquiry. I would recommend if they find themselves swamped, it would be considerate to PROMINENTLY (notice the capital letters) notify users on their website and/or even ask if we want to proceed before placing an order, allowing us, the customer, to explore speedier alternatives.Presently they post in the smallest type AND in the most inconspicuous spot on the form their turnaround times. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

The service is absolutely outstanding! I accidentally mixed up my film, and rushed the wrong order. They were incredibly helpful and helped me to rush the correct order within a day, even though they are so busy. The prince are absolutely outstanding! They take great care and scanning and correcting your images. Cannot recommend enough over other labs. Worth the premium.
